Two this morning on the heels of another fire in martinez on monday. Amy hollyfield is live for us in walnut creek with the story. Amy. Reporter reggie, i just got off the phone with the spokesperson for the Fire Department and he said they have had a rash of car fires and all under investigation. This is in walnut creek, and this car still in the driveway, right in front of a home that was saved, just a little garage door looked like it melted there but that is it. Firefighters protected the home but the car is destroyed. They got the call at 12 26 this morning to come here to larky and leroy lanes here in walnut creek, and just as they got the fire out they got another call 15 minutes later a car was in fire in lafayette, padre street, just two miles away. These are not the only two car fires this week here in cause trau c, and that call came in at 3 45 in the morning, and the car was parked in the driveway, so a lot of similarities here between these cases. This time firefighters came right out of the gate that time saying this one looked suspicious. Three car fires in the same county in the same week, and firefighters saved all of the homes and nobody has been hurt. At this point they tell me they have not made any arrest and do not have leads but its all still under investigation. Live in walnut creek, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. Thank you. The big story on the National Front this morning, lawmakers raising red flags following the sudden firing of fbi director, james comey. Jackie speier believes comeys fate was sealed months ago. He was all over the map, if you remember. He thought comey was great and then not so great and then great and then not so great after march 20th and thats what this stems from. March 20th when comey confirmed the fbi was investigating trump and the link with russia. Senior white house adviser, kellyanne conway, explained the president s sudden decision. All i will say as president of the United States he needs confidence in his fbi director and he doesnt have it. Andrew mccabe is now the acting fbi director and President Trump will have to nominate a new director that will be confirmed by the senate. Heres a few names possibly to replace comey, former jewel rguilian guiliani, and chris christie, and john pistol. Despite comeys firing yesterday, a grand jury has issued subpoenas for associates of former National Security adviser, michael flynn. Cnn is reporting the subpoenas were issued to associates who worked with flynn after he was forced out of the Defense Intelligence agency back in 2014. Its the first real ramp up in the investigation into possible ties between the Trump Campaign and russia, and flynn was forced to resign back in february after failing to disclose contacts with russias ambassador. Something needed to be done. I figured if somebody didnt do anything, not just his safety but everybody elses safety could be jeopardized because i had no idea why it started. One of the Flight Attendants wound up between the two men and Burbank Police arrested one of the men and he now faces battery charges.
