We have some dramatic images to share with you this morning. Winds of up to 110 Miles Per Hour took apart this building in the town of aransas pass. Harvey has been down graded to a category 1 storm. President trump has declared texas a major disaster making it now eligible for federal aid. Now to our other top story this morning, a controversial rally in San Francisco has been canceled. Organizers of the Patriot Prayer rally scheduled for crissy field announced their plans to cancel due to safety concerns. Instead, the group plans to hold a press Conference Today at alamo square park. Abc 7 News Reporter landy rivera has more. Its been a busy few weeks for the city of San Francisco as it plans security ahead of a right wing rally called Patriot Prayer. In less than 24 hours before the planned event at crissy field, organizers called it off citing safety concerns. Instead they will attend a Berkeley Rally on sunday. Berkeley is a better situation because we dont feel like were walking into a trap. Its wide open, its an open field. However, Patriot Prayer is taking their message to alamo square for a press conference. Theyre going to come up here in this park two blocks from my house and call it a News Conference. We never had a News Conference up here. You know what thats about. Thats just another smoke screen. Its easy to see through them. Not even overthinking it, just really like inappropriate and not the place for it. The mayor, police chief and other city leaders assured an francis cans that Public Safety is a top priority. No one is going home. No one is taking a vacation or thinking that this weekend is a free weekend. We will all be ready. They say contingency plans are in place to deal with changes but officials urge citizens to not engage with the right wing group. What i would tell people is dont feed into it. Dont feed into it. Nine days ago 30yearold jake walter was shot after enjoying a night out with friends in san jose. One man has been arrested and charged with his murder. The public Memorial Service will be held this morning at 11 00 at the Scottish Rights Center on Lakeside Drive in oakland. Reporter the chair of la raza round table in san jose said he was saddened that President Trump pardoned former arizona sheriff joe arpaio. Joe arpaio was disobeying a judges order by continuing immigration patrols that involved racial profiling. Trump is very racist and joe arpaio and a lot of the congressmen that are in congress and senate they are as much a racist as he is. President trump tweeted, im pleased to inform you that i have just granted a full pardon to 85yearold American Patriot sheriff joe arpaio. He kept arizona safe. Arpaio thanked the president on twitter and in a radio interview with abc news. Well, i appreciate the president s pardon. Very humbled that he did that. He loves Law Enforcement. I was with him from day one two years ago in phoenix at the first rally and ive always said pardon or no pardon i will stick with him as long as hes the president. Military has officially been given the green light to ban transgender people from serving. President trump signed a memo directing the military to stop recruiting transgender troops. Lets get you updated on Hurricane Harvey, satellite and radar imagery shows the circulation of the storm. Came on shore as a category 4, its weakened to a 1 but that really is meaningless because its going to continue to have the steering mechanisms in the upper elevations be at opposing forces so that means that this will continue to meander for re days and days. Look at the rainfall as it spreads out through houston, Corpus Christi, through sunday we have winds up to 60 miles an hour, 50 mile an hour winds, we are also not only concerned about the winds here, but the storm surge and the excessive rain. You probably heard we are looking at anywhere from 3 to pos three three and a half feet of rain, over 16 1 2 inches already over victoria, texas, which it will continue to move away from victoria, moving towards houston. Here are some of the isolated rainfall amounts. The storm is perhaps forecasted to move back over the water and then back in creating more problems here. So speaking of problems, this was a night shot a minute ago with all the fog here, we are looking at temperatures in the 50s, San Francisco, 62 in oakland and at the airport you can see the low cloud deck being compressed by a big ridge of High Pressure that continues to push into the bay area from the east and as that does were going to see the marine layer almost disappear and the temperatures soar quickly. 60 liver more right now, another look outside where you can see the low deck of fog here. In the north bay 90 santa rosa, 97 calistoga and east way is a warming up but you will be a little bit cooler by the water in berkeley at 79 degrees, 86 hayward, 88 union city.
