The father of a young man who police say was killed over a video game console tells nbc 7 news his son was home from college for thanksgiving break like so many young people. He was shot as he sat in his car in san Franciscos Bayview district sunday afternoon. He sold his playstation 4 on line and went to get money from the buyer. Instead, police say the buyer refused to pay, got into an argument, and shot him. The student attended Santa Monica City college and of the youngest among his two siblings. Thats my baby child. Now, the accused killer, 21yearold ronny collins, was arrested today on charges of murder and attempted robbery. Natural gas is flowing one again through the pipeline in san carlos. Thats making officials in the south bay take action tonight to open three emergency warming shelters to help provide for those in need. Shelters like this at the former National Guard armory in sunnyvale opened minutes ago. The other are in san jose and gilroy. Together they provide 275 additional beds for Homeless People to spend the night, away from the cold. This shelter primarily provides what we call two hots in a cot. A meal at dinner and a at breakfast and a place to sleep. But we also have partners that come and provide medical services. The beds are available on a first come, first served basis. The number of people sleeping on the street in Santa Clara County jumped 18 this year according to the most recent homeless survey.
