I think it makes no sense for people who are protesting donald trump and his violence and hatred, to then attack the media in the same way that he has been talking about the whole time. This is one of the two people arrested last night for protesting on interstate 580 in oakland. The Sheriffs Office released this booking photo of 2yearold oakland resident, hannah gavagan, the protest started peacefully but some people in the crowd eventually made it on to the freeway. Police arrested a total of 11 people. Dozens of people marched in San Francisco this afternoon. They gathered at city hall where they waved signs and listened to speakers. This was a peaceful rally. Today, abc 7 news was also in san jose where we asked that citys may your for his perspective on protests. One way or another in a democracy we need to find a way to work with people. Who we dont agree with. Well, an iranian born woman, meantime publicly assaulted by a woman on bart its wondering if post election roll. She posted this video on facebook this morning. When that young woman you are about to see was leaving San Francisco behind me on bart. She was going home. She never thought this would happen to her. Too afraid to show her face on camera, the young woman, we will call yvette, described the battery in insults from a bart passenger. Yvette had been on the phone with her father and had asked him in a syrian, native language, to pick her up from the bart station. Yvette used her cell phone to record the woman. This woman is a stalker from the middle east. She is a middle eastern terrorist. She is terrorizing citizens like me. And she [ bleep ] get deported. Yvette tried to reason with her. Im not doing anything. I am not even saying anything to you. You need to stop. I think you are a ugly evil littling who might get deported. Im a citizen. At that point other passengers came to her defense and called police. Yvette if any rage was sparked by the results of the election. It might be like how some people are. I dont know her. Like i cant judge her. A similar incident happened to this the New York Times reporter. Who was based in phoenix. She tweeted about it and so did the times. The chp confirmed a man was hit by gunfire near American Canyon road and crashed his vehicle. He is in his 20s and from vallejo. His injuries are not considered life threatening. No other vehicles were hit when he crashed. Sky 7 shows eastbound 80 is closed as investigators look for evidence. The freeway its expected to remain closed for several hours. Well as you know today is veterans day. This mornings parade in san jose was very special for one veteran in particular. He was there, proudly holding keys to a new apartment. A year ago, san jose and San Jose Committee committed 4. 5 million to help house an estimated 700 vets. This 12year vet said it will turn his life around. This is just the beginning. Another vet has been rented this studio apartment by a veteran and member of the California National guard who learned of the opportunity through his church. Last september, the dodsons and 50 homeowners asked city assessor carmen chu to lower property taxes because the high rise had unexpectedly sunk 16 inches and tilted 2 inches. The dodsons unit where we rolled the golf ball down the uneven floor towards the direction the building is leaning. The dodsons paid 2. 1 million for their condo. Three years ago. They told the assessor, the value they believe is now around 400. Some people put 0. Some people put 1. If you are unable to sell something, hard to believe it has any value at the time. They have yet to hear from the assessors office. Currently two homeowners lawsuits are pending against the developers. The dodsons are considering their own legal action against them. Supervisor erin peskin held hearings which reveal the citys Building Inspection Department knew about the unexpected settling problems even before units were sold. But gave developers a green light anyway. Because of that, the dodsons have decided to withhold paying their property taxes to the city. It is like being mugged. If two people mugged you. One man was killed and another injured when an out of control car crashed into san jose credit union where they were painting. Look at this. Sky 7 shows the scene on little orchard street. Police say two cars crashed into each other. One of the cars, then hit the painters who were inside the credit union. The credit union was closed for veterans day. No customers or staff were there. Both the drivers are cooperating with investigators. We are hearing from a man driving the car that killed a pedestrian outside of San Jose City hall last night. The crash also sent two members of the abc 7 news team to the hospital. And apologetic, richardo gomez told the reporter that he drank six to aeeight beers in an hour before getting behind the wheel. If i could take everything back. I should have never drank. Should have paid more attention. Gomez is charged with felony dui and vehicular manslaughter. Gomez struck 61yearold public works worker, doug andreen. Getting a meal end of his workday. Gomez was beloved in the public works department. Im sorry, andreen was.
