About a dozen at least and a jumbled mess. This is classified as a haz mat incident, we havent heard if any injuries have happened. A fiery plane crash shut down the freeway in southern california. It crashed on the 405 just outside of orange countys John Wayne Airport after takeoff. Its okay, its okay. Reporter moments after a plane crash landed on the south bound lanes of the 405, this motorist captured cell phone video of Good Samaritans jumping into action to rescue the pilot and passenger from the wreckage. Luckily the firefighter that they clipped, you know, they were all okay. My main concern that went through my head is i hope they didnt land on anybodys car or somebody else wasnt hurt. Reporter others watched in horror as this plane wobbled midair and crashed in orange county. Coming down, coming down, and it kind of tilted to the side a little bit. Then it just hit the center divider, kind of skidded along the freeway and ended up on the side and burst into flames. Reporter the crash sent debris flying, despite a Holiday Weekend, traffic was light. We were really lucky that there was not a lot of traffic on the 405, especially in the morning. Theres always a lot of traffic on the 405. At that time, traffic was flowing smoothly. Reporter the two victims, alert and talking, were taken to the hospital. First responders calling the crash landing extraordinary. Three weeks either struck the plane or components of the plane, and one vehicle struck the landing gear. Reporter fire units from the airport responded to the edge of the runway and began putting out the fire. The first unit was the crash unit that arrived on scene. They were able to lob foam over top of the fence onto the plane itself. So its good thing that those things can spray for a long distance. A doctor hoped fire with an assault rifle, killing one and wounding six others, then took his own life. People scrambled to escape the gunfire inside the high rise hospital. They cant move the coyotes out of the park because thats against the law. They believe only six are in the park, since two of them were killed by cars in the last two weeks. T theyre launching a tracking program to try and make sure that people, their pets, and the coyotes safely coexist. Never before seen pictures of coyotes in the presidio. All part of a monitoring program. That Jonathan Young has been using to track the parks coyote population for the past year. Trying to understand these animals, their movements, their use of the park, how many are here. Reporter a big reason for the program, increased concern about coyote interactions with people and dogs. Young says theyve had several dozen reports of encounters this spring and summer. People who live here are familiar with their sometimes nuisance neighbors. Six months ago, my son was on our patio and a coyote came right up to him aggressively, chased him inside. Its kind of nerveracking, because you dont know if youre going to come across one. My neighbors dog got attacked by a coyote. Reporter pupping season is april through august and september, a time when the parents are extra protective of their new pups. Seen here in photos that motion sensor cameras snapped a few weeks ago. The parental protective behavior overrides their fear of people trying to scare them away. Reporter along with daily tracking, hes using gps monitoring to learn where their spend time. That information allows them to close parts of the presidio, like park and trails, which closed to dogs earlier this month.
