They say theyve wrapped up their talks today after an exchange of ideas which theyre going to go back and analyze before they come back tomorrow morning to continue these talks. The bottom line. What im hearing from both sides, theres been progress it has just been really, really slow. But negotiators on both sides appear to be making some concessions and exchanges proposals. Weve sat down with the districts and i think weve made minimal progress. New information tonight about that salmonella outbreak traced to three facilities. The centers for Disease Control says 42 of the 278 people known to have gotten sick or hospitalized. In what hospital Officials Say is a rarely used exterior stairway. A hospital worker told ktvu employees at first believed they found a mannequin at the bottom of the stairwell. The person is deceased and the San Francisco Sheriffs Department is leading the investigation with assistance of the San Francisco police department. Reporter a source closely involved in the investigation told ktvu it is the body of 57 yearold lin spalding the with who disappeared from her hospital room 17 days ago after checking in for a possible bladder infection. She was last seen by her family saturday september 20th. Two friends, her boyfriend and her best friend came to visit her at around 11 00 a. M. On saturday morning. And were told she had disappeared as of 30 minutes previous. Reporter worried family and friends built a website to help find her. This investigation has been going for over 30 hours and some maybes are still wondering what is going on. The fbi spent part of the night digging up the front lawn where an explosive was detonated. When officers entered the house they found much more. Upon looking for the firearm, they noticed an explosive device, they immediately backed out. Called the Sonoma County bomb squad. In pittsburg, patti lee. Police in oakland say a young woman killed after the citys first friday event last week was an innocent bystander who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Police identified the woman at corin ray. Family and friends refer to her as corin bailey. Her family tonight remembered her as someone who was loved by many people and touched many lives. One of her former counselors described her as a sweetheart. A bright young woman interested in music and art. The shooting happened on broadway near city hall. Two other people were wounded. Police say those two had gotten into an argument with a man who pulled out a gun and then opened fire into the crowd. The university of californias Largest Union has called for a strike for alleging unfair working conditions. The union represents 22,000 employees who provide Staff Support and medical services at uc hospitals. Contract talks have been dead locked now for more than a year. The union says it wants better retirement entitlements and health care coverage. Eight other unions have already agreed to wage and pension reforms. And at least eight democratic members of the house were arrested for blocking the roadway. House Speaker John Boehner has refused to put the legislation up for a vote.
