Those three deputies will be bused into court today from Alameda County where they have been held in protective custody because it is simply too dangerous for them to stay here at the jail where they work. Later on today we get a first look at the three men as they have arraigned. The sheriff has recommended murder charges. But that decision ultimately is up to the district attorney. The three, Rafael Rodriguez, jereh lubin and Matthew Farris, only rodriguez gave an interview telling the mercury news he didnt do it and doesnt know how the inmate was killed. James tyree was found dead on august 27. He had lacerations to the spleen and liver and died of internal bleeding. The deputies were conducting a routine clothing search with the other inmates locked in for the night. Sources say the deputies became violent when tyree refused to take his medication. Investigators say there is Surveillance Video showing the three deputies entering tyrees cell about an hour before he was found. Im unable to disclose all of the evidence that points to the culpability of these three individuals. But its unmistakable that jereh lubin, Matthew Farris and Rafael Rodriguez committed in cowardly heinous act against an unarmed individual they were entrusted to protect. The d. A. Albert robles is mayor of the city of carson where the football stadium is proposed. The controversy came to light in june when the city clerk said robles lives outside the city he leads. Robles says he mainly lives with his parents in carson where he helps his mother care for his aging father. He says his wife and children live in los angeles where he goes to visit every day.
