It happened a few hours ago in a rural neighborhood outside of seattle. Police say the man called my 101 to say he had killed his family. After a standoff, he came outside the home and shot himself. The youngest Family Member survived and is at the hospital. Questions about a delayed response from san jose firefighters. Three homes went up in flames this afternoon on auzerais avenue right across from the citys fire station 30. Kpix 5s devin fehely on why homeowners had to wait for help from across town. Firefighters are on the scene trying to prevent this fire from flaring up. But what has flared back up is the controversy about firefighters funding. Firefighters said privately by twitter saying this is fire is what can go wrong when theyre not fully funded. The people in the homes say the Fire Departments response seemed chaotic and sluggish. It was a mess. Reporter their frustration is fueled by the fact that theres a firehouse across the street but no engine so it cant put any water on a fire no matter how close. They dont have hoses. They have paramedics here but no equipment or the capacity they need to put out fires. Reporter station 30 lost its fire engine in the and the firefighters who run it during budget cuts in 2010. Today a fire engine had to be sent from station number 4 from more than two miles away. Even so the Fire Department says firefighters arrived just two minutes after the first 911 call. The first engine got there three minutes later. To the untrained person it will seem chaotic. Lets remember, theres a home on fire. Theres a potential rescue operation thats happening. Upon our arrival at the scene, we dont know if theres one person inside, 20 people inside. The latest six to tenday outlook from the Climate Prediction Center says well be wetter than average the entire state of california because the jet stream support will come here and that transition day will be thursday. So the pattern will likely change but well see a wetter pattern developing by this time next week. So clouds tonight, a little bit of drizzle, thats about it. The weekend is looking dry.
