From the Police Department says that the town of calistoga is on a lockdown as they search for the man running around. They have the helicopters up. Ive seen s. W. A. T. Vehicles driving around here. Theres Police Vehicles from every agency in the area surrounding this area and on every corner theres officers with assault weapons because they have no idea where he may have gone. All right. You can see a sheriffs helicopter is up right now searching the woods, john describing it well telling us this is right on the edge of town in calistoga. People in the area are told to shelter in place. That out land area where they are searching. And, um, police are telling us that, um, um, they are staying on top of this and if we get any more information, um, we will pass it along to you. A somber day in dallas. President obama paid his respects to the five officers slain last week. The president george w. Bush a dallas residents and Vice President joe biden with their wives at a Memorial Service. Reporter president obama acknowledged the country aunsettled after a week of violence but he says his faith tells him that these officers did not die in vain. And that the city of dallas is a model of perseverance and that is the america he knows. Five seats remained empty to honor each of the fallen officers at the Memorial Service in dallas. Dallas police chief david brown introduced president obama, who expressed his condolences to the families and the entire dallas community. When the bullets started flying, the men and women of the dallas police, they did not flinch, and they did not react recklessly. Reporter president george w. Bush who lives in dallas also paid his respects. They went where duty called. They defensed us even to the end they defended us even to the end. They finished well. We will not forget what they did for us. With their deaths, we have lost so much. We are griefstricken, heartbroken and forever grateful. Reporter the officers were killed thursday by Army Veteran Micah Johnson who opened fire during a black lives matter protest. Theres no greater love than there, that these five men gave their lives for all of us. And the family is saying this is a woman who was loved by so many people. She didnt have a lot of money, and yet she is being held for ransom or was being held for ransom for tens of thousands of dollars. Today we learned of a possible connection between the suspect and elviras daughter. I pray every day that ill see my mom again. Its been a complete nightmare. She does not deserve this. Reporter john babb sent out a desperate plea for help to find his mother, who authorities believe was kidnapped. The 4 alleged abductors have been arrested, three of them in court today. But no one is talking about where 57yearold elvira babb is and if she is still alive. Everybody in the family is devastated. Reporter elvira has been missing nearly 2 weeks. The day after she disappeared, her son got a text from an unknown number saying his mom was being held for ransom, the kidnappers demanding 60,000. She could barely make her rent. She was bankrupt. Reporter elvira was last seen june 29. A coworker dropped her off at seafood city market in vallejo. There was no sign of forced entry into her home. But her chihuahua mix was found dead. Arraigned on kidnapping charges today, three people, Emmanuel Espinosa was arraigned yesterday. He dated the daughter for years and at one point lived in the home. As a person she is very sweet. Reporter elviras coworkers at prolab orthotics where she worked for over 20 years are baffled. Needed relief she was okay, not that all these strange characters were involved in her life, that just seems so odd. I know my mom is a fighter because she taught me how to fight. Juliette goodrich, kpix 5. Police are searching as for clues after the discovery of a womans body at a rodeo park. The 27yearold was found dead at a beach at Lone Tree Point by a family fishing on july 2. East Bay Regional Park District police say she had been living in the area since january. They are now seeking information about her death. Toddler is recovering after he was hurt by a security robot at stanford shopping center. Heres some file video of the robot, which alerts authorities of potential burglars. It stands 5 feet tall, weighs 300 pounds. The mother of a 16month old says a similar robot hit her sons head last week causing him to fall on the floor. She says the robot kept moving and ran over her sons foot. The toddler had scrapes and swelling. Police in livermore are trying to find the person responsible for a cruel crime for shooting a cat with an arrow. Officers found the cat in the back of someones yard along honeysuckle road last week. It was taken to an Animal Hospital for surgery and is now recovering at a shelter. Officers investigated a similar incident last month where a cat had been shot with a pellet gun. However, police dont believe the two are related. You dont do that. Just kind of sickens me. I have seen a lot of fish. Reporter davis was fishing for squid bait off capitola when the shark attacked. It was a fullon slam attack from down below. He came and hit the boat full speed and knocked it into the air. So he wasnt fooling around. Im glad the boat was between me and the shark and im glad it didnt knock me out because i wouldnt have wanted to be in the water. He was aggressive and fired up. Reporter a Research Foundation in santa cruz says based on the marks and tooth left behind he believes the great white is at least 15 feet long and weighs more than a ton. If you look at the records for previous season thats the pattern this time of year. You know, somewhat larger more ambitious sharks come around. Reporter he says while attacks like that do happen, they are rare. State lifeguards say they are aware of the incident but said it happened about a quarter mile offshore. There are no immediate plans to post shark warnings on local beaches. Because no warning signs are being posted, swimmers and surfers are being asked to go in the water in pairs. Wheres the onshore flow going . Not really going anywhere. Its going to be weaker. So its a weaker onshore flow and that july sunshine which last time i checked is really strong in california, the 90s come back quickly as soon as we turn down the airconditioner and that happens tomorrow and the air quality will go down as a result as our High Pressure ridge will also condense or compress that pollution down to the bottom of the atmosphere. Thats where we live. So not one ridge, not two ridges, if you include way offshore, we have three different ridges of High Pressure a big general area of higher pressure which will muscle the onshore flow and lower pressure keeping it north. So the onshore flow stays weak for three days, tomorrow thursday and friday, 90s away from the water, 70s and 80s near the bay and flirting with the 70degree mark at the beach. If you dont like the hot weather, by the weekend those ridges begin to slide away over arizona, old mexico and new mexico. And we are looking at the ocean flow a new area of low pressure entering the Pacific Northwest thats going to bring back the ocean breeze give us better air quality and temperatures closer to normal. So just in time for the weekend, the pendulum swings back to the cooler side. Tonight fog only at the coast. Otherwise mainly clear. Well see some warming toward the middle of the week especially away from the water where well see widespread every spread 90s but the stronger on show flow returning by the weekend.
