Reporter morgan manos is an uber driver when he first noticed it and started recording. They were yelling at him to get one of his armed around his back. He was complaining he couldnt because he was hurt or stiff. Reporter San Francisco Police Officers moved chamberlain to the patrol car. Manos followed and moved in closer. You see officers pull off chamberlains beanie. Manos said he had a little blood on his face from the struggle. One officer is holding the gun pointed to the sky. Thats when sfpd asked manos to move back. Sir, can you move over there, please . Move away. Theres a manhunt. Why would he be down here watching the bridge and the ocean . Surprised the whole thing happened right where i was. Reporter cate caugiran, kpix 5. The feds started investigating chamberlain after another man was arrested in Sacramento County about a month ago. Joe vazquez has the story. Reporter the feds arent saying what evidence linked chamberlain to Sacramento County but a source tells us that connection had authorities searching chamberlains apartment this weekend. Chamberlain wasnt home. The fbi conducted a nationwide manhunt for him called him armed and dangerous but said he never actually threatened anyone. Hours before his arrest, chamberlain had posted online what appeared to be a goodbye note. Quote, so much was broken from this past year and a half. I guess it was just insurmountable and the time is up. But chamberlain is alive and well. This is him with his head down in the back of a police car being driven into the federal courthouse. There are still a lot of questions. What exactly was found in his apartment . What about the explosives the feds said he might have in his possession . At first the cops were concerned they might be in his car so they closed off part of crissy field and called in the bomb squad but then they decided it was safe enough to just tow the car away. Hundreds of muni drivers staged an unofficial sickout yesterday leaving riders stranded. Kpix 5s andria borba has more on whats behind the disruptive protest. Reporter just when you thought you could go to sleep and know how youre getting to work in the morning the possibility of a second day of muni driver sickouts looms. Well let riders know as soon as we know. Reporter the sickout is the result of a contract dispute. The mta is offering an 11. 25 raise over the next two years. Workers will be making close to 32 an hour starting july 1 making them the second highest paid transit workers in the country. But drivers would have to contribute a 7. 5 pension payment something the agency currently pays. Twothirds of the drivers were out sick. Youre looking at the result. Long waits and if you got a spot on the bus, it was jammed tighter than Market Street during the giants parade. Im definitely walking home. Reporter andria borba, kpix 5. Muni is prepared to take the same steps it took yesterday if there is another sickout today including putting twocar trains on all Light Rail Service working with bart to accept muni tickets and turning all express service into local service. We are seeing a lot of the overnight roadwork this morning southbound 880 from davis to marina. They have the three left lanes closed until 5 00. One of those Candidates City Council member rose herrera hospitalized on sunday after becoming dizzy and nauseous at a Candidates Forum there. Herreras staff says its an inner ear infection caused by a virus. She was hospitalized last night but is expected to attend this afternoons council meeting. Reporter mere hours until election day and state Assembly Candidate clarence hunt was hitting the streets. We are all pumped up this morning. We had lunch here at fentons. Everyone is ready to go. Reporter that feeling didnt last long. Hunt and his volunteer Campaign Workers spent hours passing out leaflets in piedmont. They say they were harassed. At one point, one woman says two neighbors called her the n word. We were walking up to one of the doors and the guy said he doesnt want any [ censored ] on his porch. I left. The guy said he shouldnt be putting anything on our porch. Reporter the volunteers say the harassment didnt stop. Then cop cars showed uproar for hours they say Piedmont Police circled them. Piedmonts police chief told me this was not a case of racial profiling that the community and the police were simply being vigilant after a rash of burglaries in the area. Hunt says the same thing happened last week in el cerrito when Police Stopped to question some of his student volunteers. They say police ran their identification, asked if they had criminal records and incorrectly told them they would need a permit to pass out leaflets. El cerrito police sent us a statement about the incident saying, our officers contacted the subjects and learned they were going door to door in support of a political cause. A permit is not required for that. Just because a black person is walking down the street doesnt mean they are going to rob you or break into your house or kick your dog. County registrars say many people are not even aware of todays election. One reason is a lack of competitive races on a statewide level. Developing news on San Francisco bay where a sailor is still missing this morning. His boat sank near the golden gate bridge. This is the view from chopper 5. A distress call went out from the 30foot boat just after 4 a. M. Yesterday. The coast guard found the boat partially submerged on the rocks east of the bridge before it sank. A man from truckee among six hikers missing and presumed dead on mount rainier. They went missing last wednesday. The National Park service believes they fell more than 3,000 feet in an avalanche. No bodies recovered yet. An executive for Santa Clarabased intel is also one of the hikers presumed dead. He managed Southeast Asia for intel and worked for the company for over 18 years. Lawmakers in congress are pushing for public hearings to examine the deal that led to the release of an army subject in afghanistan. In an interview, one soldier said he remembers when bergdahl left. He dropped all his sensitive items, weapons, night vision, body armor, all that stuff, uhm, which he wouldnt do if he were captured. A strong sea breeze developing today thats carried with it the low clouds and fog and the drizzle this morning. Afternoon sunshine but the fog returns to the coast and then a slow warming trend as we round out the week. That area of low pressure along the california coastline is ramping up the marine air pushing it further onshore. Toward the interior valleys still hot into fresno about 94. 87 degrees in sacramento. And still some drizzle into monterey bay. Computer models showing you the clouds rolling back to the coastline and then surging onshore tomorrow morning although it doesnt look like it will be strong as a push tomorrow morning so temperatures will probably start to warm up by tomorrow. 70s and 80s in the south bay, 50s and 60s near the coastline. Still some 70s and 80s inland and inside the bay well keep those clouds and 58 degrees in daly city. Next couple of days, well watch those temperatures slowly warming up maybe some 90s by thursday and friday still some patchy fog and cooler at the coast. Lets check the roads with elizabeth. They have an additional 100 vehicles on the streets so it looks like the sickout of muni workers continues. 100 additional vehicles means about 300 of 600 bus and light rail. So they are basically operating at 50 capacity. Once again we are hearing no cable car service. Twocar trains on all Light Rail Service. They are working with bart to accept your muni ticket. But use taxi service if you can. I know the lines are long trying to get on muni. They were yesterday and really throughout the evening commute, as well. Bart systemwide on time.
