Police have two suspects in custody and are looking for at least one more after an alleged Armed Robbery at a nail salon in San Francisco. Reporter it was just before 8 00 on octavia near union when a night at the fawn turned frightening. Dooms tran life has worked at the salon for a year. She said one guy was walking with a gun with a mask on it, and after that two guys was following. Reporter sfpd says there were between three and five suspects who robbed everyone in the salon and took off in a blue toyota, tearing up gulf street at speeds of 70 plus miles an hour. Officers working off of victims description started chasing the car through the city before the toyota finally crashed near 9th and mission, injuring three. The suspects ran again. P. D. Set up a perimeter, capturing two and then one by one witnesses from the salon were taken to i. D. Their alleged robbers before finally getting released back into the arms of loved ones. An overnight fire in berkeley has forced 10 people out of their homes. It started in the triplex around midnight on Martin Luther king, jr. Way and channing way. Firefighters say the building is now uninhabitable. Damage estimated at around 300,000. Everyone was able to get out safely, though. The cause of that fire under investigation. And in fairfield, firefighters have now contained a destructive fire there. It started in some grass near interstate 680 yesterday afternoon and moved into a residential area. Lombard street, better known as the crooked street will be closed to most vehicular traffic from noon to 6 00 p. M. Over the next four weekends. Visitors to lombard will be restricted to the sidewalk. Now, taxis will be allowed, but some tourists told us its just not the same. To not be able to do that, you come from china or france or london, you want to drive down lombard street. We did when we moved here the first time. Parking control officers will be on hand to enforce the closure. This is all in response to concerns from people who live on that street about heavy car traffic and threats to pedestrian safety. Local and emergency vehicles can still use the street. In reality, get this, lombard isnt even the crookedest street in San Francisco. That honor goes to this street, vermont street. It is on petrero hill. The college is on the brink of bankruptcy. Its Parent CompanyCorinthian Colleges is in danger of losing federal money. The company had been accused of changing grades, attendance records and lying about job placement rates in their advertisements. The u. S. Department of education has limited and delayed Student Loans and grants after corinthian failed to turn over requested documents. Corinthian said without the cash flow, the company will shut down and that could affect 14,000 students here in the bay area alone.
