Folks in the southern part of the bay wont actually see showers. Here we are over the last at least not yet. Here we are over the last few hours. Showings light rain spreading through from north to kind of southeast. Weve got some showers this morning. Right now live rainfall near petaluma. Some heavier cells out there near concord. We will continue to see light showers through out the Morning Hours and as it spreads south, folks in the south bay sees him as well. Temperatures hovering in the low to mid 50s. 47 santa rosa. Light showers spreading south and east. Although it will be a bit brisk tomorrow. We will have your full forecast coming up in just a bit. Over to you. San joses mayor is calling on the community to help people displaced by last months flooding. Hes asking landlords to donate units for temporary housing or list them at a low cost. The city is partnering with Catholic Charities on the housing Exchange Website where Property Owners can post listings for flood victims to browse. The city says dozens of people are still staying at shelters or hotels. In addition to housing, they are now eligible for low cost Disaster Recovery loans from the feds as well as nocost home repair loans and grants through the city housing department. And in santa cruz county, a federal disaster loan office has open to help storm victims there. Relentless rain and mud slides have left many hillside homes severely damaged. The disaster aid is meant to help locals quickly secure money so they can start rebuilding. I definitely hope it will help. I dont believe we are covered by our insurance, so in order to satisfy the counties requirements and to get our Property Value backup, we definitely need significant help. And home owners can borrow up to 200,000 to make repairs for primary residence. Smaller loans are available to replace cars and other personal property. Pleads people in one pleasanton neighbor could use some help. Their backyards left crumbling after a nearby creek swelled during last months storm. Homeowners are keeping a watchful eye on their back lawns hoping the erosion doesnt get worse. At one home for just 5 feet of grass now stands between the outdoor pool and the creek below. The Rushing Water has already swallowed part of the yard. Every second it just keeps going away. We have probably lost 20 feet by now. Well, Alameda County Flood Control agency has made some emergency fixes by putting sandbags down near the creek but homeowners are still waiting for permanent repairs. Switching gears to politics. Two Democratic Power players spoke with voters about the collapse of the republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care act. At a town hall in San Francisco, they were met by a tough crowd. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and representative jackie spear faced a vocal crowd at balboa high school. Pelosi said she would extend her hand to the president to improve on obamacare even after President Trump called her and senator Chuck Schumer losers. I was amused by what he had to say, but i think he is getting the lay of the land. Chuck and i took it as a great complement that he was giving us credit for defeating. It was a terrible bill. The message people were sending was to push for a singlepayer healthcare system. She told them she has been supporting that idea since before many in the crowd were even born. Another congresswoman held a town hall meeting as well. She says she had some questions of her own for the gop. The questions i have are weather the republicans after voting to repeal the Affordable Care act before they had the power to repeal it are going to be willing to sit down and Work Together in a collaborative way to fix the active problem. I see no evidence yet that there is willingness to do that. She is interested in working with the republicans to build on obamacare instead of getting rid of it. And governor jerry brown is sending the gop a rather stern warning over healthcare as well. Before the republicans proposed bill was pulled, Governor Brown got fired up on the steps of the Nations Capital with the former Vice President joe biden and other Democratic Leaders railing against the gop Healthcare Plan. This is a dangerous bill. Its written by people who dont know what they are talking about. It is so big, so complicated, that i doubt of any member of congress on the republican side has even read it. Now, the governor, jerry brown, went to washington to seek Common Ground and to help with the feds on transportation and infrastructure. The state needs money. He wound up leading the fight with the president and congress, so i asked the former San Francisco mayor willie brown and melissa kane what kind of governor are we dealing with these days . I think most people at home say, wait a minute, get the money for it this. We want the money. Dont go in there and start throwing grenades. We need that emergency declaration. We need the infrastructure funding and yet he gets there and seems like he sort of gets taken up by the activity and all of a sudden hes become the leader of the opposition which is not what we need. Is he the leader of the opposition or becoming jerry brown the star . He is doing what jerry brown always does. There is never a group. It is a solo act. He could not have been part of any of the movement because only a few people got a chance to play lead and backup. Jerry is the lead and backup on every multiple issue. A brighter and smarter and more provocative. Thats what he did the minute he hit washington. Youve got to be concerned thats going to impact our ability to get funding and our ability to get the emergency declarations. You cant just keep, you know, making a spectacle and expect california to get fair and equal treatment. Keep in mind, this is the guy who has said if for whatever reason we are not able to do Climate Control and Climate Science with the freds , you will put your own satellite up there. Jerry will be of the opinion that somehow we will come up with our own money. You can come up with the money to fix the potholes on the street. 189 billion in infrastructure and satellites and bullet trains. Those are okay but we cant find the money for these other things. Jerry brown is about tomorrow. He knows that eventually we wont have concern for potholes when we are floating around in an autonomous vehicle. You know, governor jerry brown, he was heated because he knows that california would lose a lot of money if the republicans had one. About 20 billion. That would knock a hole in the state and in the counties, but he still needs money from the feds. 647 alone for electrification on the peninsula. Plus, hes got that infrastructure and Everything Else hes talking about. He was heated. If he could get heated about potholes, we might get something done. Speaking of getting something done. Oakland throws its final hail mary to keep the Football Team in town. Next, we sit down with a member of the Oakland College Team Authority as the nfl owners prepare to vote on the raiders possible move to las vegas. And folks in oakland getting the opportunity to build a better future. How a retired deputy is helping out. I go through periods where its hard to sleep at night, and stay awake during the day. Learn about non24 by calling 8448442424. Or visit my24info. Com. All 32 nfl owners are set to conduct a vote on whether the raiders owner mark davis should be authorized to move the team to las vegas. However oakland isnt tomorrow the raiders fate will be field after highstakes nfl owners meeting. All 32 nfl owners are set to conduct a vote on weather the raiders owner should be authorized to move the team to las vegas. However, oakland is not willing to let the team go and remains very vocal on the matter. The mayor is proposing to build a 55,000 seat stadium near the coliseum. People are saying nothing has changed and, therefore, the raiders have no choice but to leave. We are calling [ bleep ] on that. While. It will take 24 of the 32 owners to vote yes for the raiders to move to las vegas, and we will be in phoenix covering the boat. Look for the live report starting at 5 00 and 6 00. Meanwhile, joining us live to talk about the raiders, the warriors, chris robbins. Well, we got to down and possibly we will see what happens with the third. Lets go with the raiders here. We heard about money. We heard about land. We heard about different things. The last couple weeks weve been hearing about that this could be about the as wanting to be sharing the site with the raiders. What is up with that . I cant speak exactly to it, but 55 acres of land. He figured they could build two stadiums there. They presently have a 10year lease on the site there. But there is out clauses. Theyll build another stadium within oakland, or if they would go somewhere else. When we made the least three years ago in 2014, the Supreme Court had ruled yet to prevent them to going to san jose or anywhere else, so we said, we want a 10year lease. Why has that made the raiders so upset . Why do they want them gone . Im not exactly sure. You figure theres plenty of land. You figure there are questions. Could they play, you know . Mark davis made it clear he wanted to be the only game in town when it came to that stadium site. We have that. The other part is the money and the land. My question to you is, do you think oakland or Alameda County could come up with anything more than the 200 million in infrastructure they are talking about right now . Everyone is talking about the 750 million in their hotel tax. We are not going to generate that kind of revenue. In the bay area many people say, why should we spend that much in public funds . The mayor had a Great Press Conference and she has consistently said we have an area ready. We are not going to have to spend 700 plus million for overhead roofs because of the extreme weather. You have a private investment to bring it in. None of those things the nfl bought. You heard the commissioner come out saying that oakland is not a viable market. Its hard to say. Said it wasnt a viable plan, he said that the as was still an issue. In other words, no dice. They are looking at a number of other sites in the city. If they moved to the waterfront site. I mean, theyve done a complete 180 turnaround. Consequently, you have a huge passion and following for the raiders but the raiders are obviously could the authority and Alameda County, were they trying not to make a choice between the raiders and the as . We want to keep both teams there. Every game generates 2000 jobs. You think mark davis was ever serious about staying in oakland . All throughout he was going to carson in Southern California, going to las vegas. Every time there would be an offer on the table he would say, i will talk to you later, im going to another city. Id love to stay but im going to another city. I cant speak for him. The coliseum authority. What was it like dealing with somebody . Thats hard to answer. I dont have a good answer for you. You know, the authority did want to keep both teams here. We are still fighting. You heard the mayor say yesterday, the question was asked, promote legal action if the raiders duly. Im planning on winning. Let me ask you this. If you wanted to stay right now , it could be a pretty big headache. Next question real quick. Youve got the warriors. They are moving to San Francisco. Everybody said they might not do it. They are gone. They are building there. The raiders next move, las vegas. They still have to get it done. My question, what are you going to do with that big complex if youve got no tenants . There is prime real estate. Im sure one of the best transportation hubs probably in the country. Im sure the city of oakland will put something together im sure. Right now we are focused on trying to keep the teams there. Okay. What are you going to do with that the building . Tear down . Right now we are presently paying 10 million a year and the county is paying 10 million a year. Thats one of the biggest reasons why you cant get a deal done in oakland is because you are still paying 20 million per year in tax money off the last deal. When you bring that depletion to the voters, they go, no. Not just that. You saw what happened at san diego. They lost their team because only 46 percent voted to try to build a new stadium. Now they are in los angeles. In california we have other important issues. We are not going to spend public funds on public stadiums. We see what happens. In vegas they seem to do that. We are not going to ask you to predict whats going to happen tomorrow. You are hoping for sunshine. Are we getting that today, julie . Probably not going to see much sun today. Seeing showers out there for some folks today. Take a look at high death high death high death doppler. We certainly have some showers up north as well. Light rain will continue throughout the day. For the rock n roll marathon on the Golden Gate Bridge, a bit of a drizzle. Actually, not bad marathon weather. Most runners say its a nice cool drizzle. We are not causing not talking drenching. Just kind of light rain fall temperatures. Mild right now in the low 50s for the most part. Satellite perspectives show an area of low pressure still offshore and we are seeing this week system pass through over the next 24 hours. So light rain fall. Not a significant storm system, but enough to dampen any outdoor plans today. Future cast shows light rain mostly to the northern half of the bay area for the first part of the day. Around 6 00, you see some showers impacting the coast and portions of the south bay and spreading east. You definitely could see stray showers from time to time throughout the day. South bay, east bay, better chance the further south that youll see showers later this evening. Tapering off overnight, we could see lingering showers for the monday morning commute. The first half of the day tomorrow before drying out monday, though it will be brisk tomorrow. Looking for sunshine and warm weather, by tuesday High Pressure builds in. So sunshine and temperatures in the 70s by midweek. We do have the slight chance of showers toward the latter half of the week, but right now outside of our area. Showers spreading north to south through out the day today. Lingering early monday and then sunny and near 70 by midweek. A little bit of something for everyone. Temperatures today staying mild in the low 60s for the most part. And that rock n roll Half Marathon at this hour at 53 degrees. Warming to near 60 in San Francisco. A few runners are in town and staying throughout the day. A look at the Winter Weather alert. Headed to the high country, we see a little snow out of this system. Snow levels lower to around 4000 feet. Anticipate low visibility is on the roadways with that snow. Again, showers today, drying on monday. Sunshine and 70s by midweek. Back to you guys.
