President obama says military action to defeat islamic militants in syria is not imminent. Hes calling on the pentagon to draw up plans to take out the group known as isis. I dont want to put the cart before the horse. We dont have a strategy yet. That comment drew fire from critics including Republican SenateMinority Leader Mitch Mcconnell who said in part the president needs to use the full extent of his authorities to attack this enemy force. The president needs to present his plan to congress and to the american people. Democratic florida senator bill nelson is calling for targeted air strikes.
