Emergency crews swarmed American Airlines flight 2791 in midland, texas, early this morning, after a passenger on board got sick. The flight originated in dallas, sparking concerns of ebola. Midland Officials Say although ebola is unlikely because the sick passenger was a woman traveling from istanbul turkey and did not have a fever, it is not being ruled out. According to officials on the scene, 69 passengers were questioned and released. Air travel and ebola have become a major concern for the u. S. Government. The centers for Disease Control and prevention says they are working to fasttrack changes to improve airport screenings for the virus. Were looking hard at what we can do to further increase the safety of americans. And in the coming days, we will announce further measures that will be taken. A pilot died when his air tanker slammed into a hillside near Yosemite National park. Bigad shaban is there live in el portal california as those flames forced people from their homes. Good morning. Reporter good morning. The plane went down just behind me. The name of the pilot has yet to be released but witnesses say the crush led to a large explosion that sent parts of the plane rolling down a canyon. These pictures show a dark plume of smoke that rose just moments after a California Air tanker smashed into a canyon wall. The pilot was on a mission to dump flame retardant on a wildfire along the edge of Yosemite National park. Ken yager took the photos. I didnt know what kind of aircraft did crash, but it was obvious to me that it was an aircraft because of the change in smoke color. It was a black smoke. Reporter overnight search crews were finally able to reach the crash site and determine that the pilot was the only person on board and had died. It rolled over, fell down and exploded. Reporter the fire started early tuesday afternoon searing through 150 acres and forcing people in the nearby town to evacuate. He was flying this tanker similar to the one seen here. Because the plane can be flown by a typical person, theyre typically first on scene, dumping up to 1,200 gallons of fire retardant, clearing the way for firefighters to battle the flames on the ground. This fire season has been unusually harsh in california, with over 700 more fires scorching the state this year compared to last. The severe drought and mix of warm temperatures and strong winds have made conditions particularly dangerous for firefighters. This community has had fires off and on for years and years. Its a challenging place to fight fires and its really unfortunate that somebody lost their life. Reporter at least three other air tankers were also used to fight the fire here. But after the accident, they were ordered to land as a precaution. Firefighters now tell us theyre waiting to hear from the National Transportation safety board, on whether its safe to send the aircraft back in the sky later today. Bigad, thanks. The fbi is asking americans for help in tracking down an isis member. He may be a United States citizen. David martin is at the pentagon with new details of an online video. David, good morning. Good morning. About a dozen americans are believed to have joined isis in its reign of terror across iraq and syria and now the fbi is asking the public to help identify one in particular. Hes the masked man who appeared in this isis propaganda video, shifting between arabic and english as he ordered the execution of prisoners last month in syria. The fbi posted this clip on its website in the hopes that someone might recognize him through his voice and appearance. Judging by his accent, the fbi believes hes from the northern u. S. Border area with canada or from canada itself. He is not the first isis fighter to be hunted by the sound of his voice. Jihad john, the terrorist who presided over the execution of americans james foley and steven sotloff, spoke in british accent and following that lead Law Enforcement Officials Say they have succeeded in identifying him. Isis fighters holding western passports are considered a threat to return home and carry out terrorist attacks in europe or the u. S. Which is why the fbi is appealing to the public to help identify individuals traveling overseas for combat. We have people from all over the world. Reporter these chilling videos featuring English Speaking fighters are actually used by isis to recruit more fighters. Over the weekend a 19yearold chicago man was arrested for allegedly attempting to travel to syria to join isis. The fbi appeal includes a tip line, 1800callfbi and a web address to help them identify isis fighters. The fbi says no piece of information is too small. David, thank you. Riot police opened fire on kurdish fighters. Who are angry that isis is close to capturing a keyboarder town in syria. At least nine people died. The demonstrators said turkey should do more to stop isis in kobani. The Obama Administration is also very unhappy with turkey. One u. S. Official tells the new york times, quote this isnt how a nato ally acts while hell is unfolding a stones throw from their border. Only on cbs news we are hearing from an american and a european now fighting in syria. They want to overthrow president bashar al acidissadassad. They are not part of isis but refuse to condemn its tactics. Clarissa ward went into syria undercover. Good morning. Good morning. Western fighters are a very frightening phenomenon for the u. S. Government because they can travel easily with their western passports. We sat down in rebelheld syria with a rebel jihadi and former dutch soldier. I always said i came here for syria and syria only. But now the americans are bombing my brothers and my sisters and killing my woman and my children. Who am i not to fight back . So will you fight back . Of course ill fight back. How . Let them send their Ground Troops in and well see how. Reporter after months of negotiations, we met a 26yearold dutch fighter called yilmaz, born in holland but now one of the western jihadis fighting in syria. Ill fight anybody. Even if it was my own father that was bombing these people, i would fight him and kill him myself. Reporter he was a soldier with the dutch army but when special forces turned him down, he quit. Around the same time the uprising in syria began. Yilmaz said his world was turned upside down by the endless gruesome videos of the assad regimes brutal crackdown. So i felt the need as a person and a human and, of course, as a muslim that i had to just stand up and do stuff. So two years ago without telling his family, he left holland and traveled to Northern Syria to work as a military trainer with a wide range of rebel groups. Its scary. Reporter yilmazs ultimate goal is to overthrow the assad dictatorship, but his idea of what should replace it is radically different from the u. S. Backed moderate rebels. Islamic law, its the only solution. Youre speaking for you though. No. What about the millions of Syrian People who dont want to live under islamic law . Where are these people then . But this isnt your country. Were fighting for our country. Reporter yilmaz introduced us to a somaliamerican jihadi who asked us we call him ibin subar, and conceal his identity and disguise his voice. Im from the midwest, United States of america. Reporter he fights with an al qaeda affiliate that was targetted by u. S. Air strikes two weeks ago, strikes he warns could lead to revenge attacks against america. Would you ever participate in such an attack . No. Reporter you hesitated. Hmm. Reporter why . Be honest. Because i cant. Even if i wanted to, i wouldnt be able to. He told us the reason he cant is because the u. S. Government already knows who he is and he said that he has no desire to come home anyway. Charlie . Clarissa, thanks. That american jihadi says the Obama Administration is lying about its air strikes. More from him in part two of clarissas undercover report tonight on the cbs evening news with scott pelley. Florida becomes the latest state to confirm a case of enterovirus. A 10yearold girl was released from the tampa hospital last month after six days. The Health Department just confirmed tuesday she has ent enterovirus d68. The cdc now says more than 650 people in 44 states and washington, d. C. , have the contagious disease. Several Police Officers in the city of hammond, indiana, are facing a federal lawsuit this morning. It alleges the use of Excessive Force during a traffic stop captured on video. Take a look. A couple claims the officers smashed their car window and tasered one of them for no apparent reason. Dean reynolds is in chicago with what the couple and the police are saying. Dean, good morning. Good morning. Well, a woman named lisa mahone said the police were right to stop her for driving without a seat belt. She was not buckled in. But when their attention turned to her boyfriend in the passenger seat, things quickly escalated. Lisa mahone says she was so scared that hammond, indiana, officers would fire their weapons, she called 911 on them. Im scared to open the door. I was about to open the door but i seen the gun. Im not opening the door now. Reporter her boyfriend jamal jones asked for a Police Lieutenant to come to the scene. Yall got a white shirt . Look at my shoulder [ bleep ]. I got the bar. Hes calling names. Reporter the officer wanted jones to show his i. D. But he had previously surrendered his drivers license for not paying his car insurance. So he reached into his backpack to get his information. My back my book bag. Reporter the officers repeatedly asked jones to get out of the car. He refuse. He refuses to get out of the vehicle. Mahones children 14yearold joseph and 7yearold jania were in the back seat. Joseph was recording the video when things went from bad to worse. Are you going to open the door . You say nobodys going to hurt you. People get shot by the police. [ screams ] reporter jones was tasered and then arrested for resisting Law Enforcement and failure to aid an officer. I felt like my civil rights was just thrown out the window along with my body. Mahone was cited for not wearing her seat belt, then let go. She said police never bothered to search the car for weapons. The couple who were on their way to a hospital to see mahones dying mother are now suing the Hammond Police for violating their Fourth Amendment rights. The federal lawsuit says the officers had no reasonable basis to believe that anyone in the vehicle was a threat. Now, in a statement, the Hammond Police said their officers were afraid there was a weapon in the car, and for that reason they are permitted to ask a passenger for an i. D. And to step out of the car. Norah . All right, dean. Thank you. In another lawsuit the federal government and a Drug Enforcement agent are accused of violating a womans right to privacy. The agent went undercover and used her name and photos from the cell phone. It was seized after she was arrested as a minor player in a reported drug scene. It was first reported by buzzfeed news. Legal analyst rikky klieman is here. Good morning. Good morning. A violation of privacy . I think its a big violation of privacy. Not only did they seize her cell phone, which is just fine, we know that thats permissible, but they went inside it and then decide to create a false facebook account with her own photographs. Not only suggestive photographs but a photograph of her son and her niece, little kids. Very dangerous. This is very scary to think a government agent could create a false facebook page. The agent admits doing it. Says she explicitly consented. She did not know that he created this false persona, this facebook page. She had no facebook page. And when she finds out about it, she immediately then goes and files a complaint against the dea. She did not like this. So implicit consent, its not like he asked her. Its not like he even said please help us, by the way, i have your cell phone. Its like going into your house, a law professor says, looking at your photographs, taking them, and deciding to post those. And they continued to have it posted even after they found out. Even after. If it wasnt for buzzfeed breaking this story, this was still online this week. You have to remember, were going back to 2010. So the government has just simply let this go and i think now the government is reviewing it. It will make a big difference. Thanks, rikki. Thank you. Good to see you. Good to see you. A baseball rematch between st. Louis and San Francisco will decide the National League pennant. A homer last night by the cardinals matt adams knocked the l. A. Dodgers out of the playoffs.
