This morning, crews on the old eastern span of the bay bridge will be at it again. They are dismantling the cantilever section of the upper deck. That part of the desconstruction work should pitt take six weeks to complete. The entire demolition project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016 in all, about 7 and a half million tons of asphalt, concrete and steel will be removed. The new and official numbers are out. And more than 22 hundred people are dead. More than 26 hundred are injured and at least 84 people are still missing from the deadly typhoon that hit the philippines. These numbers are according to the Philippines National says disaster Risk Reduction and management council. And those figures are expected to rise. Some of the survivors of the typhoon arrived in the bay area, where the filipino population is one of the highest in the United States. They came into sfo last night from manila. That part of the country was mostly spared of the devastation. Survivors are saying parts of the country hit the hardest are left without water, electricity, and food. This is definitely a process. Almost like watching grass grow pretty wont notice much over night but a lot will be taking place over that old eastern spanned three years video from yesterday as the crews were ripping up the road like read the first step is rim moving the cantilever truck. Every moment some of the top deck to allow additional crew to set up there to help remove the truck. Thats work that began yesterday. As for the entire bridge thats a lot of work. Its nearly 2 mi.
