Indeed, your view outside right now of the east bay. You can see some of the low cloud cover thats sitting up there in the distance over all those skies are clear for the vast majority of us, not a lot of visibility issues. Current temperatures in the 50s to 60s. Now lot of us are on the warmer side. You notice humidity has been up the past couple of days. Weve had tropical moisture surging on in to the west coast. This is a loud evening lows to stay fairly warm and our daytime highs, despite the fact that they have been cooler, its okay to have that muggy feel to that. Weve been surrounded by this moisture to the east and south of us, especially resulting in some thunderstorms out towards the Sierra Nevada, not seeing the so much for the bay area, though. We do have some low clouds this morning and then weve got some drying and clearing skies this afternoon. Today is going to bring with it. Plenty of sunshine and much cooler weather then especially what we had last week, which as we know, we were breaking records left and right. Todays daytime highs at or very warmest really just the mid 80s inland 70s along the bayshore 60s at the coast. Very, very much different forecast than what we were looking at the same time last week. As far as the roads get it. Less 10 minutes to get you cross the bay bridge. Weve got friday light. Maybe we can cross fingers for some and a light. Who knows mateo bridge. Its a 12 minute drive across that nothing home. Yep. There. No hot spots looking likely on 80 is you try to make your way from richmond down to the maze and also looking really good on 101, this morning, too. As far as the Richmond Center fell bridge goes, were seeing Clear Conditions there and the Golden Gate Bridge, not even looking at any fog. James. John, thank you. But that being said, because of the level of compositions. So we have been left in for an undisclosed amount of all that we we received 200 arrests were just some very, very few bone fragments. The nypd cop several streets closed to ensure safety as loved ones comforted each other. And even perfect strangers grieved together during the ceremony. A familiar sight for those who attend the remembrance year after year. Thomas von essen, who was the citys fire commissioner at the time of the attacks, says it doesnt get any easier. He tells pix 11. He hopes the sacrifice made by First Responders on 9. 11, will serve as a special call to action for all americans. When you get off a strange is i mean, i think thats something not everybody is able to do that. While some tips on how you can avoid becoming a victim. And in a passionate speech, President Biden is calling on americans to stand together to defend democracy on the rememberance day of 9. 11, though, some lawmakers say hes divided. The country will have a closer look. Story. We are back at 4. 14. Lets give you a quick update now on some of the wildfires that weve been following. The mosquito fire thats been burning for 6 days now up in Placer County where Officials Say its about 10 contained. That fire has scorched more than 46,000 acres. Now in both placer and el dorado counties. Firefighters say for the First Time Since tuesday, they actually have a small containment line. Now with nearly 6,000 homes in both counties still threatened by those flames. Lets get a check of the weather. Weve got john stand by in the Weather Center for us this thankfully, weve got cooler temperatures to enjoy this week. I know fighting fires off a tough when its in triple digits and i guess we got out of that. Exactly. You know what last week was full of the triple digit 110 degree. Plus, temperatures. Really made conditions out there right for wildfires this week. We are looking at a much cooler forecast and a little bit more of a humid start to the week to that has at least the fire fight a little bit more than the triple digits. Ted, this morning, quite our camera right here, looking at the embarcadero looking nice and clear. We have had some fog mixed in with haze and smoke lately. Weve got another day that we are going to have some air quality impacts and we can blame some of that on the mosquito fire and other fires burning across the region as those continue to burn likely at least feel a little bit of an impact here across the bay area this morning. Winds are pretty generous from the coastline. This cooling impact is going to keep temperatures a lot cooler than last week. Where were sitting right now on satellite radar is just with a little bit of that low gray. You may see a sprinkle or 2 on some of our hillsides closer to the coastline. But overall, a much calmer forecast for us that out to the Sierra Nevada at Southern California and then arizona and nevada. Look at that. Theres a lot of remnant moisture from post Tropical Cyclone k which is still sitting right off the coast just right there along the mexico Southern California border. Weve had lightning strikes up into areas like ventura and Santa Barbara counties just northwest of los angeles, as well as some heavy rainfall pushing through the eastern deserts on up into portions of the Sierra Nevada and then arizona in the state of nevada itself really seeing that heavy, hnavy rainfall from this system. Great to be seeing the moisture there. Not so much tapping into the lightning that does upper fire risk, especially in Southern California because of this continued heavy rainfall, some parts of Los Angeles County and that out to arizona and nevada under continued flash flood advisories. We should be dodging any sort of that moisture, though, here in the bay area tapping into it as much. We do have the humidity, but becoming less and less humid as the week goes by. So today already going to have less of a muggy feel. And yesterday did to it 60s and 70s for San Francisco today, 60s at the coastline. 70s for most of our bayshore cities. What a difference to be talking these remembering last week with a lot of the same spots. Were in the triple digits. San jose, 80 degrees today. Livermore. Youre one 16 at this time last week today, only 83 degrees for the change hayward at 72 oakland, 73 concord. Youll be 86 today with antioch in vacaville, our hottest spots and not even at 90 only 88 89 today, santa rosa at 82. Heres a look ahead of next 7 days tomorrow and wednesday are the coolest of the forecast inland spots should only be in the upper 70s at or warmer warmest after that. Temperatures do rebound a little bit starting to climb by the weekend, really just back into the low to mid 80s that are warm us, though. Bayside spot stay in the 70s coastal areas in the 60s. A look at our bridges still looking nice at the bay bridge. Staying below 10 minutes to get you across the span. As for the san mateo bridge just over 10 minutes to get you across it. The Richmond Center fell a 7 minute drive across it this morning. And the Golden Gate Bridge staying fog free with a 20 minute drive around. So from 37 down to the toll plaza. James. John, thank you. It is for 18 videos aimed at migrants are making their way across social media platforms including tiktok. We have Brooke Shafer now with a closer look at the misinformation. These videos are sharing and the dangers are creating. Videos like these targeting desperate migrants are making their way across social media platforms like tiktok and weve got a visa. This one telling venezuelans they can migrate to the u. S. Without getting of the broke my heart because you can see below the hope. Coming through in these comments. Adriana rivera works with the florida immigrant he called the claims in these videos, outrageous videos which have now been seen and shared 10s of thousands of times. So thats what came into my mind whether shes being paid to do this by bad actors were just looking to create chaos and confusion and many hopeful migrants believe misinformation like this, adding to an already overwhelming situation at u. S. Borders where this fiscal year alone, there have been more than 2. 2 million migrant encounters. Thats up more than 200,000 from a year ago happens over and over again in these countries that have a lot of internal turmoil. And they have caused a migration to our southern border. Mostly i think these videos add to the desperation of Economic Affairs around the world and the desperation that people have to come here earlier this year. The department of Homeland Security acknowledged the spread of disinformation can affect border security, misinformation aimed at migrants was something the disinformation governance board was set to tackle. Before the dhs formally terminated the board last case at david about. But the unchecked videos keep popping up, followed by likes shares and often like to migrants at the u. S. Border. Think about it. If you are trying to leave venezuela in the state that this country is in and you see a video telling you. These guys are going to be given out, just make your way to colombia. And from there, youll be able to fly to the United States if youre desperate and these people are desperate. What are you going to do . What are you going think . So its its just battle around.
