Well, the suspect in the kidnapping and death of 4 family members has been booked into the county jail. The suspect jesus el gato had been in the hospital since tuesday after trying to take his own life. Now hes out of the hospital and in jail on 4 counts of murder and 4 counts of kidnapping those charges all in connection to the kidnapping and death of these 4 family members. You have 8 month old, a rookie, the harry, her parents, jostling cohort and just keep saying and her uncle amandeep singh, the family was first reported missing on monday. The bodies were found Late Wednesday night in an orchard that discovery of their bodies came just a day after investigators released chilling Surveillance Video of the actual kidnapping in the video youre seeing right now. You can see that family being taken away from their trucking business in zip ties. The Merced County sheriff revealed the suspect worked for one of the Family Companies and had a working relationship with them. Investigators also adding that the 48 yearold suspect has a criminal background, including home invasion. Meantime, the were said sheriff admits this has been a very disturbing case. I mean, anguish for the families, the victims, families on this. Theyre going to have a life long suffering from this undersheriff gibson. And i spent well over an hour with the family this morning. And the grief and the sadness and the and the anguish that they were feeling it breaks my heart. And at times i wanted to cry myself. Well, a vigil was held last night are set for the 4 family members that were killed. City officials estimate some 500 people showed up to grieve. And so should port, according to a flyer for the event, the candlelight vigil will be held each night until sunday. Well, the oil family is suing the School District saying their son a 17 yearold student should still be alive. The family says their son somehow wandered off of the School Grounds has suffered a medical emergency and died days later. He should have never. He was later found after suffering from multiple seizures and was taken to the hospital. He died just days later. And so its our hope that, you know, this action will bring about change to ensure that that well unified School District doesnt allow this type of conduct to her in the future. Brian harrison is an attorney who is representing key vaughns family in a lawsuit against vallejo city unified School District. The suit is seeking to bring about change for students with disabilities. It is a bit like yvonne who doesnt get the resort is dedicated to him and thats how something tragic like this happens. The vallejo School District says they have not received the lawsuit yet and they will not comment on pending litigation reporting in vallejo, dan thorn kron. 4 news well, in the east bay berkeley, police have arrested a woman who they believe is behind a series of kidnapping attempts dating all the way back to august offers gayle ong spoke with Berkeley Police about the case. Take a look. Police say wednesday morning the suspect was arrested after she was found driving in the area around here at the North Berkeley bart station. Berkeley. Police say 36 yearold Dominique Walker is suspected of attempted kidnappings were reported in august and september. Heres a map of where the incidents happened. Police say on august 29th around 05 30pm, walker approached a 14 yearold boy twice while working in his front yard in the area of allston way and jefferson the first case started with. The the male suspect trying to talk to the young boy, im and then just kind of talk to him. They would like very slow. We ended up about 30 minutes later. Police say walker then approached a 13 yearold girl walking in the area allston way. And mckinley app on september 14 around 06 10pm. Police say the suspect approached a 15 yearold boy in the area allston way and grant street. The actually tried to get the young boy to get into her vehicle. Police say the last reported incident took place on september. 20th around 05 30pm, where the suspect approached a 12 yearold boy riding his scooter near sacramento street and addison street. This is the very scary event for all parents and for all children involved and for the community in general. Hopes are Jessica Perry with the Berkeley PoliceDepartment Says tips from witnesses helped detectives identify walker and obtain an arrest warrant on suspicion of attempted kidnapping and 3 counts of annoying and molesting a child. Officer perry says the victims were not physically ran home. They ran away. They ran in, pulled their parents who called and notified the police department. And thats what we ought to do in any of these types of situations. In berkeley, gayle ong kron, 4 news. Police are looking for the thieves who they say tried to steal a catalytic converter and then shot at a resident. It happened in the area of oak street and lynn avenue early thursday morning. Police say at least 2 people were trying to steal catalytic converters. A resident saw that these and yelled at them. One of the suspects turned towards them and fired several shots. Luckily no one was hurt. Police say the suspect then tried to flee in a dark colored suv, managed to do so. An important step for for students and staff in east oakland still trying to cope with last weeks shooting that injured 6 people. New measures and support services are now in place for more students that are starting to return to class call for us. A new cameras perhaps going in some locations where we didnt have full coverage may be upgrading some we are upgrading the radio system that that staff there used to communicate with each other. We are upgrading the lobby area and the reception desk to make that more welcoming and make it more for more protective were also the entryway with a remote buzzer system to allow people to come in. Officer crimson elizondo, was fired thursday after what she did or did not do on that terrible day. 19 students and 2 teachers were killed as Law Enforcement stood in the hallways for more than an hour. Well, in national news, marijuana advocates are cheering a new move by President Biden.
