That she will wake up. But they say that this morning Childrens Hospital oakland is blocking their plans. A hospital spokesperson responds live right here on kron4 next. And an overnight shooting near a Popular San FranciscoMovie Theater kills one woman. We have details next. Good morning. Thank you for joining us. We are experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures right now. And to break down what the weather has in store heres the latest forecast. Good morning. It is another sunny start to the day. As justine mentioned, were expecting aboveaverage temperatures, once again. Not much has changed here in the bay area. But you can see its a very chilly start in santa rosa. 52 in oakland. Upper 30s in san jose. Mid30s if concord. About 43 in livermore. Now, we will take a look at the temperatures ahead coming up in my full forecast. Justine . The family of jahi mcmath is saying a facility in new york may be able to accept the brain dead teenager and keep her on life support. Filing is short timing is short since a judge ruled that Childrens Hospital in oakland may remove her from life support at 5 00 p. M. Tomorrow. Joining us live from Childrens Hospital is sam singer, a spokesperson. Good morning. Good morning. When we spoke yesterday about what is happening today, you told me that jahis family needed to do three things in order for Childrens Hospital to release her so she can go to this new facility. Can you go through the three things and tell us if any of those things have happened. Well, first of all, let me say our sympathies go out to this family in this time of grief. Were doing everything we can to be helpful to them even as their lawyer continues to lash out at the very caregivers who are providing support to them. Weve said that the family needs to find a physician who will perform the medical procedures that they need to transport the body of jahi mcmath and they need to kind a facility that will take a body on a ventilator. Its really wrong to say that this young woman is on life support. Shes not. Shes deceased. So the family has set up several websites to raise money for jahis care and on one of them this morning, jahis mother said Childrens Hospital has once again interfered with the placement of my daughter. We still have a chance at one more facility. The mother is basically saying that the contact between you and this new facility that they had found in Southern California has dropped out and shes blaming the hospital. Can you explain . We understand that when people are in times of terrible grief and sad ness like this, things dont go the way they like and they want to point the fingers at others and we have sympathy for that. But this hospital has never had any substantialtive conversations with any of the facilities that the family has mentioned that would allow us to rereally transfer her body to them. Were doing everything we can to comply with the familys wishes for this young deceased woman. But were not quite sure of the realness and reality of any of the promises that they have made that this could actually occur. There are very few facilities that will accept a desessed body on a ventilator. Youve the hospitals had no conversations with any facilities that jahis family hoos said that they has said that they found that sas had they will take her has said they will take her . Weve had a conversation with the director of operations of one facility in Southern California who said that they would have their medical director speak to our medical director which would be the appropriate protocol. We for 24 hours never heard from that facility. So its really not right to say that we interfered with that. We had an initial phobe call with the director of operations. Their director of operations said they would get back to the medical director so that they could take and they never did. Were doing everything we can to be helpful to their family even though their attorney continues to lash out at the very people providing care to this deceased young woman. As far as inserting these tubes in jahi, one in her throat and another in her stomach, are there any plans to do that today . Were waiting to fare from the family hear from the family. The ball is in their court. They said they could find a physician who could perform these procedures on a dead person, they could find a facility and transport the body. Were waiting to hear from them and we havent heard from them. So were a little concerned about the reality of the promises and the beliefs that they have. And Childrens Hospital is under a court order to keep jahi on a ventilator until 5 00 tomorrow. Do you have any plans or do you know of any Court Appearances that you need to be at . Is the Family Planning extensions . And would you fight an exit tension . Extension . I cant speak about the family. Their plans continue to be made and then they follow through. Were waiting to hear from them. This is their thing. We we extend our deepest sympathies to this family over the also of their daughter. Theres nothing that anyone can do now to bring her back. Shes dead by every medical, spiritual religious definition humanly possible. Its time to find peace and move on. We wish that for the family and the friends we want people to know that this hospital has done everything that it can for this family and this young lady. And it continues to work here in the community providing care as it has for more than 100 cares to the poor, to the indigent, to the needy, finding cures for things like sick a anemia. Has Childrens Hospital taken any responsibility for whats happening to jahi as she was in your care . Were unable to discuss this case because the attorney for the mcmath family will not provide us to and i think that would provide carety to the public and clarity to the public and media with this very tragic case. Every patient that comes through this hospital is treated with the utmost respect and our hearts go out to this family and we hope that they find peace in this very difficult time. Thank you so much.
