Protestors want the mayor to fire police chief greg suhr because of the deadly shootings including the death of mario woods and others. The chief says they were justified and the victims were armed with knives and refused to drop them. The mayor says the department has begun to implement reform. There is a statement that says the chief will not resign and tends to see through the police implementation and been working with the mayors office. In ninety minutes, a Blue Ribbon Panel will hear from a task force set up by d agascon. A hundred protestors have been marching outside city hall for most of the day and the frisco five, the group that was on the Hunger Strike against the police use of force and that strike ended on saturday. The block doors of city hall are blocked and Police Officers are standing guard and trying to prevent a repeat of friday night when protestors got inside city hall and caused damage. The crowd looked like it thinned out. Probably about two dozen or so out there walking in circles. They have been demanding the firing or the resignation of police chief greg suhr. The mayor says the department is implementing form to reduce the use of deadly force in the spd and they say the chief will not resign and protestors there last week demanding the same thing and mayor lee stood behind his police chief saying we will implement the reform. I heard back from scott weaner and he says i respect peoples rights to peacefully protest but he supports the chief and once he lays out the changes and see how they take effect.
