Trump Administration
is unveiling a proposal to cut taxes, for individuals, the administration plans on bringing down rates and simplifying the personal tax code. We are taking the current seven tax brackets and reducing them to three, a 10 bracket, a 25 and a 35 bracket. The white house wants the top tax rate down to 35 , he also wants to double the current standard deduction. We are going to double the standard deduction to a married couple will not pay taxes on the first 25,000 of money they urn. The administration said the rate will also be available to small businesses. We will have a one time tax on overseas profits that will bring back trillions of dollars that are offshore. So far republicans and wall street appear pleased. Republican leaders said the plans principles will be happy but democrats argue that the plan does not pay for itself, something that the white house disputes. This will pay for itself with growth and reduction of different deductions and closing loopholes. So far there is not an official cost estimate for the plan. For more on the plan laid out by
President Donald Trump
we are joined with the director of the tax program at san oa say state. What do you think about the plan. Its similar to what he proposed when he was campaigning. What do you like and what do you dislike . Is it will make it easier for advise, the deductions will make it easier. He called for the repeal of the amt or alternative minimum tax. Thats a positive. What is the negative, in your opinion . I think that the negatives are, first, we do not have much detail so is hard to analyze plus the concern of a big drop in the rates for corporations and businesses, how could you do that without increasing the deficit. To go from a first time 5 corporate rate to 15 , thats a cost of about 2 trillion over 10 years, highway do you make up that revenue. Would they not argue that if you cut the corporate tax, it helps the businesses, the businesses grow and they hire for people and thats good for the economy. There is an element of economic growth. The taxes reduced will pay to hire people. The house plan called for dropping the rate to 20 , there is a big difference between trump and the house, which is revenue neutral . Some democrats are saying the plan is a gift for corporations and billionaires who are like him. There are something tax cuts for higher income people but its a good chance that we will see businesses reinvesting the money. But the higher incomes may not put the money back into the economy. For someone that makes, 25,000 to 100,000 a year, what should they think when they hear about the plan. They should through that there is not much of a change in their tax liability. It may go down a bit not not a lot. Do you think that the plan has much chance of passing . If we can get consensus, yes, but if is like the

act, they cannot agree. They need consensus on the white house, the house and the senate to move the plan along. Thank you, we appreciate your time. Thank you. To go out and do fire inspections and permit inspections for events and new construction, followup on complaints. So it was more or less gutted. It sounds like it. Does that mean that there is a backlog in the city of alameda. Right now we have 1600 commercial inspections and 30 residents inspections. In 2016, the commercial inspections were 21 , the residential inspections were 35 , we have a big backlog. There are obviously many reasons why terrible things happen on our roads but particularly in our dense neighborhoods, when people speed, we have seen in a recent five years period, over 4100 collisions that involve deaths or serious injuries, many are caused by speed. So we want to bring this tool that has been used in other states successfully into

We want to make sure that we are reminding people that speed kills and you need to
Pay Attention<\/a> to the posted splim. Any speed limit. Any idea when you may reintroduce it. We hope early next year we can work out a better understanding with the members of
