A mother left her two little girls with someone who was only an acquaintance, and police were searching for the girls but just about 20 minutes ago we learned those two little girls have been found. About 3 45 police learned that the woman who was with theme, woman showed up at st. Francis hospital with both kids. And right now they need to find out how is she related or known to the mother who is now under arrest fowrn related drug charges and who will now take care of the kids. And from what i understand, they had agreed to meet a couple hours later, then the mother couldnt do that so she said well keep them overnight and meet tomorrow. Really . Reporter we understand from police that the mother of these two girls has known the woman for only two months, yet she somehow happened her own kids to this woman who weve seen on surveillance. You couldnt think of a better resolution. So right now police are interviewing this woman trying to figure out what happened and what now will take care of these little girls. The little girls were handed over about two months ago, and then the mother went back to tray to get the girls . No, the mother has known the acquaintance for only two months but the handoff happened just two days ago. So what we dont know, the police are unclear exactly why did this woman, ms. Jones, leave her children in the acquaintance. We have no idea why. So the mother is now in custody. What happens . Where do the little girls go now . Reporter Child Protective Services has been called in. They will analyze who will now take care of these kids. Great news that the little girls were found safe and sound. Henry, thank you. We have a developing story out of hercules where the Police Department headquarters has been evacuated. Police say someone walked in and said they had a fake bomb in a bag at 3 00 this afternoon. An officer looked in the bag and saw what looked like a real explosive device. From skyfox we have seen a truck from the walnut creek Police Department which has a bomb squad. People at two senior apartment complexes nearby have also been told to shelter in place. At this time authorities have not determined exactly what is in the bag. Fremont police are warning people about an irs scam making the rounds. Police say they have received multiple reports of residents receiving calls from irs impersonators. The scammer calls the victim and tells them they owe money to the irs and it must be paid with a prepaid debit card. If the victim refuses the caller threat tones call the police to have the victim arrested. In many cases the caller id on the phone indicated that the call is coming from the irs but the irs says only contacts individuals through the mail and not by the phone. While bart riders are dealing with crowded cars, delays, and electrical issues, bart workers are getting a bonus of 1,000 each. This year ridership figures are on track for another 1,000 bonus. Bart insists this is aside and apart from aging infrastructure issues, out of service bart cars, bus bridges and delays. They should be patrolling, putting cameras that really work and making these 80, 100 cars that have been out of service, they need to make them a lot better. No word from police on what caused that accident. Authorities are looking for two carjacking suspects who took a car from a woman in walnut creek near the Pleasant Hill bart station. It happened on treat boulevard in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Deputies say the woman had just parked her acura, and thats when the men demanded her keys. As they tried to take the keys one of the men pepper sprayed her. The missing car is a gray 2000 acura tl with four doors. The School District has been battling high turnover so this week the board decided to take action making teacher housing a priority even if they have to build it. Its not going to solve the problem for every teacher butt can be a solution for a lot of teachers, depending on the scale and the magnitude of it. Reporter one possibility, build an Apartment Building for teachers on district property. Theres land that could be used. Its the reason why it would be potentially doable for us, is that we have some land that we could use to put housing on. Reporter so its early in the pros and the district will explore all options. Parents Say Something needs to be done. I think we should go for it. Definitely housing that would be closer to schools and more affordable for the teachers, should be a perk that we offer, if possible. For teachers like angela kerry, the help will come too late. Still, shes glad the district is trying. We have a really Supportive Administration that wants to come to a solution that supports teachers. But i dont see what it is.
