Officer Brentley Vincent dropped and fired at the 43 yearold. Three officers at the scene were wearing body cameras, although vincent was not. A few hours later, the nfl released a statement saying we are planning to play the game as scheduled on sunday. We are monitoring events in charlotte and have been in communication with local officials and authorities in both the Carolina Panthers and the minnesota vikings. So far this year, 706 people in the United States have been shot and killed by police. Although africanamericans make up 13 of the u. S. Population, they account for 25 of all police fatalities. Hispanics who make up 17 of the population account for 16 of deadly shooting victims and white people who make up 77 of the u. S. Population make up 45 of all police Fatal Shootings. The paper says last years numbers with consistent with what it found for this year. Now to breaking news about a massive data breach affecting half a billion yahoo users. Yahoo confirmed that the breach affected 500 million yahoo accounts. According to a statement from yahoo, the breach happened in late 2014. Thats when information was stolen from the companys network. The stolen information may have included names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, and some passwords, but at this point, officials dont believe payment card or Bank Account Information was stolen. San Francisco Police are hoping to look at Surveillance Video to rye to find the person who left behind a suspicious device at a busy muni bus stop earlier this morning. This was first spotted around 7 30 at the bench at southwest avenue and mission street. It turned to be some sort of a rice cooker. And the departments bomb squad moved in here to investigate exactly what they had. Eventually they deemed that rice cooker harmless. Investigators done know if the device was left as a prank or by accident. Well be looking into whether or not this was done in a careless way, someone simply left something that would cause this kind of panic or whether or not it was done with some other intention streets in that area reopened about 9 30 in the morning. Police are on alert because of those Pressure Cooker bombs that exploded in new york city last weekend injuring dozens of people. And it was a similar situation in vacaville, just about 20 minutes ago, the vacaville Police Department tweeted out a photo here of a rice cooker with the caption that says the device has been determined to pose no safety threat and has been removed from the area. The citys explosive Ordinance Disposal team had been investigating the device when it was spotted just about an hour ago. Oakland police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another seriously wounded. The two men were shot yesterday afternoon in the area of 23rd 23rd avenue and east 26th 26th street there. Theyre 18 and 20 years old. The 20yearold was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released. The 18yearold was hospitalized and listed in critical but stable condition. No arrests have been made, and police have yet to release information on a suspect. Now to concord, where police are investigating a double shooting that injured a man and woman inside their home. It happened about 9 50 last night on bella drive. Officers arrived to find a 29 yearold woman and 28yearold man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police arent releasing much information, only that the suspects are wearing all black and they drove off in a car. No word on the condition of the man or woman who was shot or a possible motive. This afternoon, we are learning more about a disturbing discovery at san jose state university. Swastikas and racist language found inside a couple of the Residence Halls there. The university is looking for whoevers responsible. Janine de la vega spoke to the university and a spokesperson about the investigation. Reporter the University President met with senior staff this morning. She was debriefed on the police investigation. They also talked about what are the next steps that the university is going to take. She has said that she is saddened and outraged by what was discovered in the freshman dorms. Last night, University Staff met with students who live in Washburn Hall and Campus Village to talk about their concerns. One of the swastikas was made by name badges and it was stuck on a hallway door. It was moved to a window so everyone outside could see it. The second was drawn on a white board in a common area. Racial slurs were written alongside both of the symbols. All has been removed and the university wont comment on what was written but they say the language concerns them tremendously. A hate crime is targeted toward an individual. Thats what our officers will be continue to go look into today. Were these symbols, targeting any individuals in our residence hauls and what can we do Going Forward about that. Seeing that kind of stuff, like right next door to you kind of shocking. Especially in a place like this where its a really diverse campus. Seeing people hate, like hate crimes like that is really disappointing to see. This news comes as the university is trying to improve its racial climate. Back in february, three former students who were all white were found guilty misdemeanor battery for harassing their policewoman roommate, accused of putting a bike lock around his neck and using racial slurs. That understand caused outrage incident caused outrage. University police are investigating this as two separate cases.
