We are still on that storm watch and the bay area is still recovering from that big weekend storm that left a lot of neighborhoods reeling and picking up the pieces. That includes lafayette where a big sink in now that is big. A sink hole opened up on Mountain View drive. This is a 20foot sink hole. The road just collapsed after the culvert that diverts creek water under the road clogged up with debris. Cracked the sidewalk and then the road collapsed. And then making matters worse water, sewage, and gas lines are all under that collapsed road. Repair crews will be working to fix it all today. Then the culvert has to be replaced. Reportedly a new bridge will not be built until next spring. This morning people who live in napa county are still keeping a close eye on the napa river but there is good news. The river is expected to stay below flood stage. Still several feet of water are covering a Peach Orchard on deer park road. It looks like we got off pretty easy. We have some flooded vineyards and things like that. And just some washed out driveways. Mount st. Helena was one of the hardest hit areas with four inches of rain in 24 hours. 2200 people still dont have power in the greater bay area. Here are some of the litest numbers from pg e. Now the north bay and east bay have more than 600 customers still without power. South bay outages effecting 595 customers. In the Santa Cruz Mountains 250 are still in the dark. Peninsula and San Francisco have no more than 50 outages each. Time now 5 02. Less than a month to go now. It look Like Congress is no closer to keeping the nation from going over. Muni and other agencies are thinking about a controversial plan when it comes to their fair rates. Muni is considering basing how much people pay on how much money they earn. According to the examiner some people dont think its fair that people who are struggling to pay their bills have to pay 64 for a monthly pass while Senior Citizens who have more money are only paying 22 for the same fair. This all happened just after 3 00 this morning on 580 eastbound near flynn road. We have been told two chp patrol cars were chasing a driver when one of the officers lost control and the car the patrol car flipped over. That officer was taken to the hospital to be examined. San franciscos board of supervisors may be close to a deal to extend the lease of a gun club for up to two years. The compromise comes after efforts to evict the gun club this summer. A couple things one maybe have a different way to feed the dolphins because the dolphins on a ledge that have a different type of container that is as alluring. A bike lane here at Golden Gate Park are style cyclist ride between parked cars and the sidewalk along 1. 5 miles of john f. Kennedy drive. The speeds of both the cars and bikes have dropped more than two miles an hour. But disability activists say it cuts off their access to the sidewalk. So now they are thinking about taking legal action to completely shut down that bike lane. Back here at home an Oakland Company as won the right to provide School Lunches to students in 114 schools in San Francisco. Revolution foods won the competitive process. Its a 9 million deal that still requires school board approval. Revolution foods builds itself as a healthier, fresh food alternative but costs more than other providers. Students in five states will be spending more time in school. Select schools in colorado, connecticut, massachusetts, new york, and tennessee they are all scheduled to announce today they are adding 300 hours of class time to the school calendar.
