I will tell you one thing, everyone traveling today can expect big crowds. Take a look. You can see theres still some wet roads left over from the rain we had last night into this morning. A lot of activity here at sfo. As we come on inside the terminal, you can see that activity carries on inside the airport here. You can see that crowds are now starting to build here. Were at the were in terminal 2. This is the virgin airlines. The rain we saw this morning, not slowing down peoples plans to travel. We saw a lot of passengers coming and going. Passengers we talked to say they knew that the crowds were gonna be like this so they made sure to add a little bit more time to prepare for long lines and crowds. I was always stressed out about getting here. Reporter ktvu was there this morning as delayed passengers collected their luggage early this morning after major delays last night into this morning. At least 81 flights were canceled yesterday due to the rain and the low cloud cover forced the airport to shut down one runway. The faa restricted the number of landings to 76 an hour, as opposed to the 96 per hour yesterday. That meant that some travelers were faced up to delays up to seven hours. We tried switching planes. Everything was filled up. Nothing we could do. Go to sleep for about four hours. Nothing but sit around. Reporter things are getting busy here at the airport. Crowds are starting to pack in. We saw a few delays, not a whole lot. A few delays, particularly to Fort Lauderdale and boston. But otherwise, flights seem to be on schedule. Passengers are being warned that weather could cause for delays and make for longer travel lines getting to the airport. If you are about to head out, give yourself extra time. The rain, wet roads. This was at the broadway offramp on 580 in oakland. The chp says about five inches of water built up there which is a major concern for drivers. A sad story in oakland where a man plummets to his death. He apparently slipped and fell into a deep quarry last night. Ktvus alex savidge joins us live to explain what caused the victim to go out in the dark. Reporter good morning. This mans body was recovered. Its believed he drowned. Firefighters say he went out in the rain last night trying to find his lost cat and he ended up falling off this sleep cliff behind his house and he landed in the water. This is a waterfilled rock quarry right below his home here. This is next to the rockridge shopping center. The Oakland Fire Department launched a search around 7 00 last night after the mans friend reported him missing. Rescuers used a boat. One rescue worker rappelled down the cliff. Just before 1 00 this morning, they found the mans body about 30 feet under water. One of the drivers involved in this recovery operation explain how they locate a body in dark, murky water like this. We use a circle search where we set an anchor at the bottom and a buoy at the top. We have drivers stationed on the bottom and another diver that circles that anchor searching for our target. Reporter so far, authorities are not releasing the identity of the man who died here last night. But the Fire Department will describe him as being in his late 50s or early 60s. Firefighters say in addition they did end up finding a cat up on the hillside above this old quarry. They do believe it belongs to the man who lost his life here last night. The bus was going past the Military Building when it exploded. There are reports that a man carried a package on the bus and it blew off after he got off the bus. Jonathan wilbanks is facing charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery. Now, he and another man are accused of four robberies, a deadly attempted carjacking and a shooting that injured a Police Officer friday night. Now, the two of them were caught on Surveillance Video at a 7 11 store where a man was shot and killed by the suspect. A 20,000 reward is being offered for information for the man who is still out there on the loose. People in palo alto are being warned about two different scams involving energy and water services. The first one involves someone claiming to be from a gas company they claim a product they are selling lowers your bill. The city says the scammers often mention pg e. Thats not palo altos utility company. The other scam involves a fake water leak Insurance Company and that will offer insurance against high water bills, they claim. Sal, this is your day. Moving along and taking a look at 880, its been a little lighter than usual driving past the coliseum getting to the airport. Theres still longterm parking available sat the oakland airport. The 101 peninsula looks good. You saw Christien Kafton up there monitoring the flights at sfo. Some people have already been delayed but yesterday there was a big delay day. Others are getting a are gray. 60 in oakland. 45 in tahoe. There is a lot of cloud cover, even though some of that rain is ending. Most of the rain looks to be ending. Theres still some bursts of it. Vacaville, fairfield back to oakland, east bay a little bit towards san jose. Things look like they are winding, even to cloverdale, things not really popping up. There could be light rain. Overall, the trend. A little bit of rain. Union city, hayward, fremont, also over the sul noel grade. Over san jose proper more clouds than anything else. And really starting to fall apart, the system in the valley. Isolated rain and kind of a steady rain for some. High pressure will build in. So the rain will be ending. There will still be a lot of cloud cover, very, very mild, though, maybe some partial clearing. It looks like the pattern ends and we might have to wait until the first week of december before the next rain moves in. I guarantee.
