Firefighters when they got here found the victims body just about 10 feet from the front door. This fire started around 3 this morning at the Fuschia Court Mobile Home Park, which is here in an unincorporated area of hayward known as cherry land. After discovering the body, fire crews worked to keep the huge flames from spreading to any of the neighboring homes. People who live nearby woke up to the smell of smoke and called 911. The complex manager here says he went over to knock on the door and he could tell this fire was out of control. I could tell through his front window that it was all completely full of smoke. So i banged on it, hollered for people to call the Fire Department, went, turned off the gas, and pulled out a hose with the help of a neighbor, and we couldnt control anything. Investigators have not identified the person who was killed in this Early Morning fire, but were told the Sheriffs Office right now is working to locate the homeowner. This video shows his plane landing in San Antonio Texas overnight. Bergdahl was freed two weeks ago after being held by the taliban for nearly five years, and he had been staying in an American Hospital in germany. His release has been mired in controversy. Reporter steve joins us live from san antonio where bergdahl begins the next stage of his road back to some semblance of a normal life. Good morning steve. Reporter and theres no telling how long it will take to get there. Hes here at the San Antonio Military Medical Center where a team of dozens of experts, doctors, psychiatrists, other types of counselors are helping him on that road to reintegration. Today is where it begins, his first day back on u. S. Soil. A military plane carrying Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, the last american prisoner of war touched down in san antonio friday morning. Its the last leg in a journey that took him from taliban captivity to a san antonio Military Hospital where hell start his transition back into society. Bergdahl disappeared five years ago while serving in afghanistan. He was freed last month in a controversial 5 to 1 prisoner swap with the taliban. This exchange has encouraged our enemies and increased the risk to our military and civilian personnel serving around the globe. A military source speaking on anonymity told cnn an investigation determined that bergdahl deliberately left his base in 2009, but the army stopped short of calling him a desserter since they dont yet know his intent. Were going to get a chance to talk to him and find out what was in his head there that day when he was taken captive. A pair of letters from bergdahl obtained by the daily beast suggest he was concerned about conditions and leadership at the base. Former navy s. E. A. L. Chris evan said if he did indeed abandon his post it was the wrong decision. Theres also some derision in the ranks, but certainly i think for him to walk away, i think he realizes in his heart of hearts that he was wrong. Doctors say it may take months for bergdahl to recover physically, but his public rehabilitation could take longer. Reporter and a key moment in that rehabilitation will be when he is reunited with his parents, and we suspect that that will take place here.
