We had a couple 40s. It will be a day where temperatures are staying below average. Gusts 42. 20s plus for concord. Also oakland. Thats not stopped it all morning long. Thats the low right there. Digging into the inner mountain region, the back side of that brings us a cooler and breezy to windy pattern. Some morning low clouds. It will be sunny. 70s in areas that should be in the low to mid80s. 60s, coast and bay. Heres sal. Were still looking good when it comes to the morning commute. I want to show you some things as we start off with the bay bridge. Its backed for a 30minute drive time into San Francisco. I cant say thats too out out out of the ordinary. Also looking at the commute here on the the san mateo bridge, thats getting crowded as well. About a 15minute drive time from the toll plaza to foster city. 580 westbound slow in livermore and part of dublin and pleasanton. It gets better by the time you reach pleasonton. 680 is slow. 101 is the slowest freeway in the south bay. 85 is slowing down approaching 17. Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. This morning, marin county firefighters are investigating whether two fires in three days are the work of an arsonist. This video is of a fire that started yesterday afternoon in marinwood along highway 101. There is a lot of concern from residents in marin county, not only because of who is starting the fires. If you take a look behind me, you can see a lot of dry brush. Weve seen this all over the brush in the bay area. We were in livermore three weeks ago, you saw the dry brush. It extended up here. Thats the fuel lighting some fires. This one started on the 200 block of johnsstone in san rafael. Yesterdays fire is the second in the past three days. This one started around 11 00 in the morning, burned about four acres along highway 101 yesterday afternoon near a bike path. The fire spread up and over a hill behind homes on the 200 block of johnsstone drive. Firefighters say they are not calling this arson but do say the fire appears suspicious. Fridays fire is being deemed arson. That fire began around noon on friday near a Mobile Home Park in terra linda. It forced the evacuation of a hundred homes. It burned two decks and the siding of the home. It burned 16 acres. Investigators believe its arson because the fire appears to have been started in multiple places. This morning with the threat of arson and the dry conditions. Firefighters say people need to prepare their homes for the fire season. If something doesnt look right, be sure to call. You can call 911 to report. If something looks out of the ordinary and theres something that doesnt look right in the open space or in an area that given given the conditions that we have, wed ask anybody to be vigilant and let us know. What do you do . You are helpless at that point. It was nice to see that everybody was on top of it. We knew there there would be a pretty fast response. Reporter pretty heavy response as well. On thursday, there was another fire at a park. That fire burned 10, 15 acres. As we take it back out here live, you can see how close the homes were near the hillside. The best advice to clear out any dry brush around the home. And they say this is a wakeup call to what is expected to be a very busy fire season. Back to you. Thank you. Firefighters in kern county are racing against the clock to get control of a large fire before the weather gets hotter later this week. The shirley fire is burning in the Sequoia National forest. Over the weekend, Sheriff Deputies ordered the evacuation of 500 homes. The red cross has opened an evacuation shelter at lake isabella. Several roads in the area are closed but the Forest Service says most tourist destinations are still open. However, park visitors say they are on edge and are prepared to leave at a moments notice. Weve talked about what we would grab and actually i put all of my stuff back in the truck just in case. The fire started around 7 00 on friday night. It has burned 2200 acres and is just 10 contained, almost 300 firefighters are working to put out the flames. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. 7 07. A major computer problem last night at target Stores Nationwide caused long lines and a lot of frustration for customers. But the company says it has resolved any issues related to checkout. Target experienced a computer glitch that shut down registers for several hours yesterday leaves customers frustrated. Some of them took twitter to talk about what they were experiencing. According to shoppers, employees were scrambling to come up with a better solution. Many customers reported not being able to use their credit and debit cards. But at some point, the store was able to accept just cash. She was rebooting the register she was on. And then she went to the register behind me. She was literally bouncing between registers trying to get the people out. Ended up telling us there was a problem with the system. Reporter target apologized for any inconvenience and said it was able to restore the registers e eventually. They also said it was not related to security. An investigation goes on on the stanford campus after a student was found dead hours after graduation ceremonies. The mans body was found yesterday afternoon in a campus residential building on mayfield avenue. Now, according to the stanford daily newspaper, School Officials say he was a senior. Santa clara county sheriffs investigators havent identified him yet but they say the cause of his death is not clear. However, School Officials say theres no threat to public safety. Many people in San Francisco demanding extra traffic signs and flashing lights for an intersection where a homeless man was killed over the weekend. It happened early yesterday morning at the fifth street offramp of interstate 80. The chp says a drunk driver went too fast around a sharp curve, crashed right through a guardrail and plowed through a homeless encampment. A man sleeping in a tent was killed. Looked out, helped them, gave money if they needed it. The people who live in the area say this isnt the first time a car has crashed in that samier karnment. The same enkarnment. The 27yearold driver not hurt was booked on dui charges. Controversy is brewing over a bathroom cleaning punishment at a berkeley Elementary School. The mother of an 11yearold student said her son was forced to clean the bathrooms at the Elementary School after an alleged bullying incident. The mother claims the school never notified her that her son got in trouble and shes especially upset because the boy came down with whooping cough after the punishment. School officials told the paper, its not unusual for schools to use cleaning duties as the form of punishment. They also add the student did not do any scrubbing. Northbound 101 San Francisco, that looks good approaching the 80 split. No problems on the bayshore freeway heading down to the airport in case you are trying to catch a flight. Northbound 101 traffic is busy in traffics from near the capitol expressway up to sunnyvale, its not as bad as it has been the last few days. Its slow.
