He was briefly left in the back seat of the car, handcuffed, but he somehow slipped out of the handcuffs and tried to drive away. He crashed into a gate and two metal poles. The person is in Critical Condition this morning after crashing into a concord drive in. Witnesses say the car flew off highway 4 and ended up knocking down a traffic pole and some fencing. The car landed near the west wind drive in. No one else was hurt in the accident. More information is coming out on a head on crash. An suv slammed into a sedan on willow pass road late friday night. Friends of the victims have placed flowers, balloons and notes of condolences. The coroner is holding off on releasing the names, but friends posting online say the mom organized as a hairstylist and her daughter was 2 years old. Reporter people near the crash site say the rural, two lane road is narrow and not very welllit. The Oakland Police department is set to unveil its new and improved dispatch center today. The new center okay water drive will take in all 911 calls made in the city of oakland. Among some of the improvements, the facility has new work stations for dispatchers, and has a more efficient shot spotter system. The city says the project will improve communication between dispatchers and Police Officers. An active Shooter Training drill is being held later this evening at 6 00 and run into the overnight hours until 3 00 a. M. Multiple agencies will be participating. The police chief says it is the type of training that prepares officers for a worst case scenario. The exercise will be closed to the public. An investigation is underway in Sonoma County after a house fire caused an explosion in a garage. That explosion ruptured a gas line. This happened yesterday afternoon around 4 00 on west school road near maple avenue. Firefighters say the fire started in the garage. The homeowners tried to put out the flames with a garden hose, but they werent fast enough. The fire caused the type of oxygen tank use for welding to explode, which then broke the gas line. Pg e had to be called out to stop the gas. No one was hurt. A gas fire may have been caused by someone tossing fireworks out of their car. It happened yesterday morning along interstate 205 near the Mountain House exit. The fire started around 10 00 and quickly burned five acres of dry grass land.
