We have learned that city leaders will start interviewing candidates for that ninemember board. 144 people applied for the commission. 28 have been selected for interviews. The people who applied for those positions include community activists, local attorneys and leaders in the faith community. In Oakland Deputy police chief is taking a new job as a chief in the northwest. That is danielle outlaw. She will be the new chief of police in portland, oregon. She will be announced on thursday. She has been with the Oakland Police department for 19 years. She started as a Oakland Police explorer when she was a student at Holy Names High School and then rose through the ranks. The mayor of portland says she will improve diversity in the new department as well as create better relations with the general community. Start San Jose Police are looking for more potential victims after a man claimed to be a doctor was charged with sexual assault. Lycie ezequiel dureocarvajal was arrested july 28 for sexual battery, invasion of privacy and unauthorized practice of medicine. Officials say that dureo carvajal owns the iridologia holistic pharmacy. San jose police started their investigation when a man contacted them after she went to the pharmacy on july 15. She says he told her he was a doctor and conducted an unlicensed exam and touched her inappropriately. Police want anyone with information to contact them. After a yearlong investigation the faa says no sanction will be filed against a Central Valley skydiving center after two men were killed in a tandem jump last august. The men landed in a lodi vineyard last august. A witness said skydivers hit the ground without an open parachute. According to the faa, one of the skydivers had paperwork indicating hed received certification training but the United States parachute Association Found out the documents were falsified. The association revoked the membership and instructional rating of several people in connection with that jump. In texas, an investigation is underway after three boy scouts died from a freak accident. Officials say the scouts were sailing when their boat ran into an overhead power line. All three were electrocuted and the boat burst into flames. Two older eagle scouts died at the scene. The younger scout leader died at the hospital.
