Its nice and not well populated, not well attended. This is what you expect at 4 00 or so on a morning commute. No major problems on interstate 880 if youre driving near the coliseum or from downtown oakland to hayward. That commute looks good. And the road accept sores are not picking up much in the santa clara valley. The San Francisco school board approved a controversial proposal that provides free condoms to middle School Students. Both sides of the issue packed the meeting. Some parents found themselves at odds with other parents and teachers. The school board voted unanimously. The state mandates access to medical care and prevention theres no man at a time that school has to be the one to do that. Those have the supplies they need to stay safe and are able to talk to caring adults. Condoms are already available at San Francisco high schools and under the new policy, middle School Students must talk to a school nurse or social worker in order to receive the free condoms. Parents cannot opt their children out of the program. A torso of a woman was found near the dumbarton bridge on sunday night. Investigators returned yesterday to look for more evidence. It appears to be that the body was dismembered but they havent said if any other body parts were found. Anyone with any information about this case is asked to put in a call to the Fremont Police department. Two Police Officers are on administrative leave, accused of entering the home of a county probation officer and assaulting her. A report was obtained about an alleged home imivation. The two men stormed into her house and attacked her. She says she and her husband fought off the intruders who appeared to be drunk. The Alameda CountyDistrict Attorneys Office tells the newspaper this case is currently under review. Leland yee is set to be sentenced today in his case. His lawyers are asking for a fiveyear prison sentence saying he has a long history of Public Service and his wife is ill. Prosecutors want him to spend eight years behind bars. The democrats the president ial candidates were in South Carolina last night where their primary will be held on saturday. Both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton talked about race and racism at a town hall. I believe strongly we have to deal with systemic racism and systemic racism is found in our criminal justice system. In job opportunities, education, and its also cultural. Clinton said the nation needs to address systemic racism in order to move forward. Sanders talked about education. You have my word that we will not only sustain, well increase funding for the historically black colleges and universities. A new poll shows sanders trailing clinton among black voters in South Carolina by double digits and she has a commanding lead among all voters. South carolina will hold the democratic primary this coming saturday. And then super tuesday with voters in 12 states casting votes. For republicans, 595 delegates are at stake. We are following developing news out of nepal where a small plane carrying 23 people crashed in bad weather and everyone on board was killed. Friends and families gathered at the airport when the plane was first reported missing. And then they received the bad news. The plane went down in a mountainous area. One passenger was from china and one from kuwait and all the others were from nepal. Severe weather swept the southeastern u. S. And killed two people. The National Weather service says that at least seven tornadoes hit louisiana and mississippi. Boy, thats some of the video of the destruction. This is a Mobile Home Park in louisiana where the two people died. 30 others were injured there. You can see the huge response. At least 100 mobile homes were damaged. 300 people live in the park. Its unknown how many were at home when the weather hit. Search and rescue operations are underway. We may continue to see drought restrictions this summer unless el nino brings Rainy Weather next month. All the dry weather is not helping to replenish californias depleted reservoirs. It would have to rain almost every day in march for there to be no drought rules this summer. Water board officials plan to decide this coming april whether restrictions on water use should continue.
