Neighbors say that the home was vacant. We looked online and found that it sold in october for 2. 1 million. Neighbors tell ktvu that the homeowners bought it with plans to move in next year. The cliff right in front of a nearby sewage plant is also washing away just 100 feet of cliff left outside the front door of the huge plant. It appears that the homeowners are still staying inside the place. The tree that fell was on this piece of public property here that was along the sidewalk on lancaster road. The tree fell over the back fence and on to the home thats right on the other side of this fence. You can see a lot of branches still left behind here from the cleanup job done this morning. This all happened around 1 00 this morning at thishome. A 911 call came from the homeowner. The homeowner told officer who arrived it sounded like a big earthquake as this oak tree came crashing down. Nobody was hurt according to Walnut Creek Police<\/a> as this huge tree toppled over. S that very large tree. I cant get the dimensions. But we had a call from the homeowner basically who said they felt an earthquake and came out and saw the very big tree. We have personnel coming here. Reporter its unclear what caused this oak tree to come down recally early this morning. But obviously, the soil is saturated with the recent rain that we had here. No doubt that was a factor the city crews have their work cut for them. As we bring it back up here live, its pretty clear, pam, there are still large sections of this tree that need to be cleared away. According to Walnut Creek Police<\/a>, this tree was on a piece of public property just adjacent to the back fence of this home. This will all be handled by the city of walnut creek. The raw for the man accused of the deadly shooting of kate steinle in San Francisco<\/a> wants the murder charges against him thrown out. A hearing is set this afternoon on that motion. The lawyer for Jan Francisco<\/a> Sanchez Lopez<\/a> filed a motion to throw out that murder charge because he says it appears that the shooting was an accident. An expert testified that Lopez Sanchez<\/a> aimed at the ground and the bullet ricocheted off the cement sitting kate steinle. The case got National Attention<\/a> because Lopez Sanchez<\/a> is an undocumented immigrant who has been deported five times. Three former San Francisco<\/a> City Employees<\/a> are due to be arraigned on bribery charges. They are accused of taking 20,000 in contributions from and undercover agents involved in the raymond child case. More than a dozen students at a San Francisco<\/a> Catholic Prep School<\/a> have been suspended. Officials say that 14 students took part in a racist themed party last weekend. Students from several other schools also attended that party in stern grove in the outer sunset. After seeing pictures on social media, other students reported the party to administrators. It was a gathering with a very inappropriate theme where students dressed up and promoted very poor stereotypes of black culture. St. Ignacius School Officials<\/a> say that 53 of student identify themselves at white and 47 as people of color. Such a sad story we are following. The girl was apparently trying to say goodbye to her father and ran in front of his truck. The father was leaving to pick up two other children from the school. Police say an anonymous tip led them to mark andrus, a smarl time drug dealer. Dna testing identified the remains as his long time friend, 58yearold omar shahwan. But with no crime scene evidence or motive, there was no evidence to charge him with murder. He is released. Four days later, the suspect died but data from his cell phone pointed to his involvement. Andrus made numerous google searches looking for hand saws, power tools on craigslist and target, how to use hand saws and how to cut up meat. How to cut up meat . How to cut up meat. In text messages, andrus often mentioned the aldrich hotel. He was listed on a room card with the victim. They checked into room 320 just a few days before the murder. Police learned of a phone call andrus made the morning the body parts were found.
