Yesterday Contra Costa County supervisors voted 4 want to spend 25 million for a new building. The state already promised 70 million for the project. The money will be used for a Mental HealthTreatment Facility for inmates. Many critics have opposed the project for a long time. Contra costa county supervisor john gioia voted against it and says the money should be used for Community Services instead of expanding the jail. In San Francisco supervisors unanimously approved banning businesses from selling flavored Tobacco Products, including menthol cigarettes, flavored chewing tobacco, and flavored liquids that contain nicotine used in e cigarettes.
