Thank you, sal. Santa clara county Sheriffs Office has roped off a neighborhood in saratoga. A deputy shot someone last night. We have a reporter in saratoga to talk about the investigation so far. Reporter deputies are staying tight lipped about the shooting. We know that the crime scene unit is here. Theyre here on titus avenue off of prospect road. They are collecting evidence. They have been doing that all throughout the night into this morning. Deputies were called to the scene at 7 40 last night. Theyre not saying what the circumstances were but at some point a deputy pulled his gun and opened fire on a suspect inside a home on titus. The condition of the person is not being released. The deputy involved in the shooting is a veteran. No other officers were injured in the shooting. Our deputies do a great job everyday. We know that the job is inherently dangerous. We are investigating this and we are following all standard protocols and procedures. Reporter a school with classes for kindergarten through 8th grade is across from the scene. Its unknown if the school will be impacted or if deputies will have wrapped up investigation by the time classes begin at 8 30. We will let you know about that. We are waiting to hear from a sheriffs spokesman to see if they can release details about what sparked this and really why the deputy opened fire on a person here. Back to you. Usgs recorded magnitude 3. 5 east of piedmont at 12 50 this morning. The shake map shows seismic activity mainly in Alameda County there if you see that. We did hear from a lot of you. It happened saturday night during the sold out block party at the greek theater. In the first case an 18 year old student met a man in the port o potty line and he later assaulted her. Two other women are reported being attacked by men they did not know. One student who worked as an usher at the event says the assaults are disappointing about you shes not but shes not surprised. Everyone is taking substances. Its crowded. I feel like it is easier to get away with that. Its really loud. A lot of stuff like that would go unnoticed. Police say during the bigger events where people are drinking alcohol, sexual assaults are not uncommon. Police are still looking into the attacks from saturday night but so far there are no similarities other than they all happened at the concert. The suspect in the first case is described as a white man between 511 and 60 with athletic build, brown hair, blue eyes. He was wearing a floral short sleeve shirt and khaki shorts. In the second case the suspect is latino, 21 years old, 57 with a medium build. He was wearing a multi colored tank top, dark shorts, and a hat. So far there is no description on the suspect in the third case. Also at uc better than lee police are looking for two suspects in a violent probably. The Victim Told Police he was approached by two men at piedmont and band c after midnight yesterday. He says the men punched him and knocked him unconscious. When he regained consciousness his briefcase was gone. Witnesses told police they saw a white car speeding away from the scene. There are very few details about suspects and their descriptions. The victim was taken to a hospital. We are hearing from the father of a toddler killed in an alleged dui crash in Alameda County friday. This is a heart breaking story. 3 year old elijah done was in the back seat of his mothers car when it ran out of gas. The car was pulled over to the side of the highway when it was rear ended by an suv. Elijah was airlifted to the hospital but did not make it. His mother is still in the hospital. The boys father says elijah was his best friend. Everywhere i went he was my right hand man, my shadow. He was everything to me. We were so close. A 12 year old and 22 month old baby girl were also in the car during the crash. They are expected to be okay. The suspect is a 39 year old pleasanton woman. She was under the influence when she crashed into the stalled car. Shes married to an Alameda County sheriffs deputy. Bart is expecting to complete a major step towards extending bart to san jose. Bart hopes to open a warm spring station in south fremont before halloween. We dont know the exact date yet. The warm springs bart station is expected to increase rider ship by 4700 daily trips. A news helicopter captured the police handcuffing one demonstrator outside of the studio. Two men wearing antilochte shirts stormed the tv stage after the olympic swimmer finished his performance. Throughout the incident, the tv cameras stayed on one of the judges who was yelling at the protesters to get off the stage. The show went to commercial and security removed demonstrators. Although ryan lochte was never touched, he says he felt hurt and ripped apart but says he will brush off the incident. Ncaa is pulling seven championship events scheduled in North Carolina for the upcoming year because of North Carolinas controversial lgbt law. The law limits antidiscrimination protections for Lgbt Community and requires transgender people to use public bathrooms based on their biological sex instead of the gender they currently identify with. Going to the bay bridge, not the same. It is backed up for 15 minutes before you make it on the span. 237 west we have had a crash. We have had a couple different crashes in this area this morning, 237 at Great America parkway off ramp there is a new crash and traffic will be busy as you can see. It is backed up to 880. Our camera nearby is spotting some of the slow traffic here as you can see. Its kind of an early commute and its not a good one on 237. You might want to think about using the montague express way or getting on the road early in this area. 6 17. Lets bring steve in. It was exploding gas cylinders which ripped through the building. Amazingly the fire did not spread to other buildings and no one was hurt. The cause is still under investigation. There is a show down between president obama and Congress Regarding a bill involving september 11 it 11 terror attacks. The president plans to veto legislation allowing families to sue saudi arabia and other mid east countries for damages. Saudi kingdom denies any roles in the attacks but 15 of the 19 hijackers were of saudi descent.
