All right, sal. Two people were hurt in orinda after crashing into a cow on the road. This happened about 1 00 on how way 24, right near the tunnel. The cow wandered on to the road, it was hit by more than one car. The driver were taken to the hospital. The cow, it was killed. Two lanes of highway 24 were closed for a couple hours as the crews went out there to clear the highway. Well happening right now, the coast guard continues to search for a swimmer reported to be in disstress in the water near San Francisco ocean beach last night. Ktvu alex savidge, you are back with us now with the operation that has gone all night. Reporter good morning to both of you, the coast guard still considers this a search and resume cue operation even though a number of hours have passed now. The coast guard had one of its cutters that stayed in the water during the overnight hours searching for this person. The 911 call came in last night from a person who was standing on shore near the cliff house restaurant here in San Francisco, that person spotted someone in the water who looked like they were in trouble having a difficult time staying why float. The coast guard and San FranciscoFire Department responded to this area at about 7 30 last night. They searched the water extensively but they have not been able to find that person and because of the thick fog you can see out here near ocean beach. The coast guard was not able to put a helicopter up in the air as part of this search. The fog was heavy, there was 250 yards of visibility. The weather was not conducive to have a helo out. Well reassessment reassess assess what we will need reassess what we will need if we continue the search. Reporter the coast guard says the person who spotted the swimmer in distress waited some length of time before calling 911. The coast guard says if you see someone in trouble in the water, you should not wait to make a report. Authorities dont have any information about the person they are searching for this morning, if its a man or a woman, how old they might be. They do not believe this person had on a life jacket. But again the search is going to continue this morning here. There is one coast guard cutter in the water. If they get any break in the fog which does not look likely, the coast guard will be putting a helicopter in the air this importanting to try to find this person. Steve has been showing pictures of that fog pouring owe the head lands and the Golden Gate Bridge, it looks like its windy, what are the water conditions for the boat looking for this person . Reporter well, i mean, you can you know, you can get a sense what it would be like to be out there in those conditions, pretty rough surf. I am not quite sure what the water temperature would be there. I didnt get that information from the coast guard. But obviously cold. Obviously this person if they are still in the water they done have a whole lot of time. But again, as we said the coast guard still at this point believes that this person could have survived or could still be alive and so they are considering this as search and rescue operation still at this point, holding out hope obviously they can find out whoever this person is and bring them to safety.
