The average is 75. The record was 92 in 1970. The coast looks good. The fog is out there. It just cant make a move. Is too much resistance. High pressure will not allow it. The water temperatures are cold and the fog needs help but will not get it until late sunday or monday. We are warming up already. Upper 50s to a few low 60s. The west coast look sunny and warm. We are on the periphery of the eastern edge of low pressure. 7 01 am. Niles canyon, has that gotten better . Still the same and we will have more on that coming up. I want to mention Something Else that make it your attention today. The bay bridge, why is it so heavy on a friday . Thats because of a couple reasons. A lot of people are on the road but also this morning we had a problem on the bridge where it caused some slow traffic as you head up to the bridge. They had to close the bridge at one point for a few minutes. The damage was done i like to say that but i dont like to say that. Thats what happens when you do that. The bay bridge will be at least a 20 minute five delight 25 minute delay before you make it onto the span. Some of the alternates include going down to the san mateo bridge of the Richmond Bridge. Right now the bridge is going to be slow. I want to mention that traffic in other areas of the bay is not bad. You can see 880 northbound getting up to the area is not bad. Northbound on the right, southbound on the left. Traffic is going to be okay. If youre driving on 580 it also looks good. There are no major problems. I want to move over to the niles canyon road area. Niles canyon is closed. Between 680 and mission boulevard. It looks like its going to be that way for a while. 680 is a big mess today. Declared an accident near the pleasanton area. 680 is a little slow at 84. For the most part, its a decent alternative route. In the south bay we have traffic on 101 getting busy but we have good alternates and 85 and 284 lets go back to the desk four people are hospitalized after a very serious single car crash that happened in oakland. This happened hours ago. Alex savidge is on redwood road. Youve been out there for hours. This is the scene of the crash and firefighters had to perform a dramatic rescue operation. It was not easy and it took quite a bit of time. This rescue operation lasted more than an hour and a half at this scene. Just after 5 00 this morning, rescuers were able to free that man from the wreckage of his car and he was driven away by ambulance. He is in critical condition. That darkcolored bmw sedan veered off the road this morning, overturned and slammed into a tree on redwood road near crestmont drive. This was around 3 30 am. There were a total of four people inside that car. Two young men and two young women. Two of this people were able to climb out on their own after the accident. The other two were trapped and had to be helped out by firefighters. I talked this morning with a Security Officer who works up the road. He told me he spotted this same car speeding down the hill on redwood road right before he heard the crash. I know this hill like the back of my hand. Something told me that if they did not slow down they would not make this turn which i would say three seconds after they made the turn, i heard the impact. I went down the hill and saw the vehicle on its side. It was pinned up against the tree. The primary challenge was how the car came to its final resting location against a tree. It actually uprooted the tree in the tree actually moved and was leaning against, a significant size treat was uprooted. We had to work around that and eventually we had to move the vehicle away from the tree to get the final extrication. Reporter the two people who had to be rescued from this car by firefighters or both hospitalized this morning with critical injuries. Were told the other victims from the car have less serious injuries but are still at the hospital right now. As we bring you back out to a live picture you can see that Oakland Police have closed redwood road entirely because they are going to do a full traffic investigation to try to figure out the cause of this crash. At this point, there is no indication that drugs or alcohol may have played a role but that is going to be part of this extensive investigation. We should also point out that you can see redwood road is shut down entirely at crestmont drive and we are just off of highway 13. We should also let folks know this is one of the main roads that people use to get up the hill to skyline high school.
