KTVU KTVU Mornings On 2 At 7am August 11, 2017

I would prepare for layers fog with cool drizzle in the upper 50s and 60s for today and tomorrow. This low has been hanging out for the week which is why the weather has cooled off compared to july when it was hard to get any clouds. Have thunderstorms with a fog bank and that is the circulation it is also tapping into smoke from the Pacific Northwest bringing it back in here. Low clouds making it to the reporting station just like yesterday temperatures bumped off up soon into the day yesterday but we will have a tough time getting into the 60s were many areas. 50s and 60s are not budging at all as you might imagine, 54 nevada. 68 rauner park. Low clouds and fog persist for most and then start to peel back but it is a foggy start to this friday morning a little more of a breeze inland but not much. Near average temperatures in the 60s 70s 80s and just a few 90s. So how are things going on the roads . There has been one glitch on 880 northbound in downtown oakland. First it was reported as debris and then became an incident on northbound 880 and it is still slow although chp has removed everything from the freeway. As you can see by this live picture it has taken a while to clear. This is 880 northbound headed into downtown oakland. Lets take a look at the coliseum that is 880 on the right headed up to downtown oakland that is a long delay. Fortunately you can use 580 as the alternate. Getting to the bay bridge toll plaza it is definitely lighter than usual and looking at the contra costa commute slowing on highway 4 otherwise we are looking good. On the east bay commute 580 from Castro Valley to the bay bridge is good. If i were you i would avoid 880 and use 580. Back to the desk. A developing story in oakland where a child has been found safe after being inside of a car that was carjacked. Police say the car was stolen on 64th avenue the child was found a couple blocks away on 66. Suspects were also found in custody the area now they are in custody. We are collecting information but the child they were concerned about has been found. We will bring you an update as we get more information. Today is the first day of the outside lands Music Festival and the first of three days of creative commuting. Leigh martinez reports from the festival route this morning. This is the 10th year for outside lands and the Golden Gate Park may be looking familiar with the tall fencing that is up with limited access into Golden Gate Park. It is always curious which of the three days will be the biggest at night tonight the guerrillas and fleet foxes will perform both bands have been on a long hiatus and have new music so it could be a huge turnout. What to expect around the festival kicks a lot of street closures from jfk to 36th avenue is closed. Access to Golden Gate Park is limited with the north side of the park entrance closed also all roads on the west side of the park from transverse drive to the great highway. Your Commute Options are not going to be very comfortable. All of the bus lines near Golden Gate Park will be packed. For bart and uni writers there will be shuttle service. Good luck finding parking there is a possibility to find some Street Parking but that will also be limited. This is our coachella with more than 200,000 people coming to the park. There are 400 festivals around the world and there are five in the United States that are the big five and we are one of them. Another change this year, this is 25th avenue and fulton this will be the new Box Office Entrance into the festival. If youre coming today this is how you get to the park. If you are not interested in coming your district to get to work or get home there was a possibility you will have a lot of Traffic Congestion today. It is best to avoid driving if you can and if you have a bicycle that might be best. Leigh martinez, ktvu fox 2 news for more information on outside lands visit ktvu.
