Lets go straight to lee martinez on the scene. Reporter we were told everyone is off of the bus. They have a recovery effort going on for some of the people who did not survive. This is an horrific accident. This charter bus, five people were killed and several more have basic injuries. The bus stared off and start the traffic pole head on. One of the worst accidents in a decade. The truck was traveling from Southern California. An employee confirming the Company Received word that one of their buses may be involved in a thin or accident this morning. That Company Provides transportation from mexico through california and into washington state. The driver has been identified as mario basque as of los angeles. He is alive, but has major injuries. Six people were airlifted with major injuries and 15 others were transported to various valley hospitals. Back out here live the chp is trying to clean up the scene and get traffic moving again on the northbound lanes of highway 99. Right now highway 99 is closed and the southbound lanes are open. The california Highway Patrol says they do not have a cause for this accident. It is only involving the bus and the pole. No other vehicles were involved. They said that his injuries were major and he was one of the people taken to the hospital. We do not know the extent of his injuries. We were told it is a very devastating scene on the bus.
