Neighbors say theyre frustrated that these children were targeted and traumatized. This is tragedy, it needs to be made to the community that weve lost the innocence of our children. They will never be kids again. They will never be trusting again. They wont receive any counseling to help them get over this tragedy. Now police have told ktvu that they do not believe this was a random shooting. They believe that the gun gunmen were targeting someone at that party. For now police are asking for anyone to come forward from that party. Theyre looking for anyone who had a photo of that shooting or the aftermath. Police are looking to make more arrest in connection to saturdays violent crash between demonstrators supporting and opposing President Trump. Police are reviewing social media pictures. Social media video as well as their own surveillance video. At least 20 people were arrested over the weekend. Some are facing charges that included assault with a weapon. One person was stabbed. All of those injured were part of the demonstration. Today is the first day on the bench for the Newest Supreme Court justice. Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch will join the rest of the Supreme Court for a hearing on three different cases. The most significant case is expected to come wednesday on the separation of church and state. What it does is it asks the car rental companys to take away any advertisement that can be seen on the car and also to take the bar codes away from the windshields so that, criminals cannot identify these vehicles as any targets. San francisco is such a tourist town that there are a lot of rental cars. Do you think that thieves are just looking for those bar codes and using them to break into trunks and know that theres luggage in the back. That kind of thing . Yes, basically when you look at where theyre breaking into cars. Targeting areas where theres a High Percentage of tourists. And when you put a target in their backs saying, hey, heres a car that you can break into. And they probably wont be around to testify. Have you spoken to some of your other colleagues about their willingness to make this official. Are there any obstacles to it . Well, the time line is well the quickest we could pass legislation generally is about six to seven weeks. And the obstacles would be whether or not the car companies, Car Rental Companies would be resistant to this. Which doesnt make any logical sense to me because they would actually fight this. Because really what were asking them to do is treat the customers better. Supervisor its not just tourists. Hes now starting to take the ferry because hes so sick of calling the insurance company. You guys have had 6,500 cases of grand and petty thefts from vehicles just in the last year. Do you think people who break into cars should be put into jail or not. Thats the problem that these repeat offenders they dont worry about going to jail. The problem is there are those casual criminals that can break into one car. What your Police Department has told me is theyre really targeting those that are in a gang that would break into more, multiple cars each day. So those are the ones we want to capture and put away. Im thinking of apple, google, uber, tesla what companies are not interested in getting into the driverless car game. And how lucrative do they think its going to be. Its estimated to be a 2 trilliondollar worth of revenue just in a year alone. If you start to shuffle the deck, theres a lot of money at stake here. So traditionally detroit has been one of the key people, who put players in this stage. A new player could come in and take a piece of that pie it would be intergenerational wealth created. Is there any chance theres going to be any proprietary technology in the apple car or google car that makes people just like they choose phones now they might want to choose their car because you know the apple car has integration with the phone and with the i pad and all that. Thats the potential really for apple here is they create user experiences. They have the eco system. As you know once you get into one of these apple iphones your life is in there whether its your financial information, your pictures of your kids. Basically everything. The idea they can be in the car is just really a powerful, a powerful argument that they can play in that space once you get into the eco system. So theres potential there. Plus the other thing they do really strongly is human machine interface. Just think about all the times you use your apple machine. You get into your normal car and the display in the center stack there is sometimes really difficult to operate and something that auto makers have been game for for the last 30 years having to struggling to figure it out. And looking into how functional theyre going to be. People would say theres no way im going to get a driverless car. But obviously these Companies Think it is going to happen. What do you think is the time line for that . The time line is unclear. This is technology thats still really unproven in the dayto day life. The companies that are pursuing lets say they expect to put some vehicles on the road in the next few year, potential 2020, 2021 thats what theyre racing for. The idea among some of the early leaders is they put this technology out through controlled settings and controlled areas to work out the bugs and spread the cost over kind of a working fleet. I know apple is pretty top secret company. You have any scoop in regards to whether theyre doing any of this testing for the self driving vehicle here . While she lost the case and decided not to appeal, her case called attention to gender discrimination in the tech company. Tonight she provides recommendations for tech start ups to be more inclusive and diverse. Today she will start a conversation. Hill made history when she accused u. S. Supreme court thomas with sexual harassment. This case has been in the public. And said the bay area was not one of the top places for women in tech. How big an issue is this for the bay area in the silican valley. Is it a bigger issue here for the bay area. Its a big issue for the bay area and Silicon Valley. Its a big factor in making people successful in the workplace and billing up the tech we need. If i look at people different races, different genders, different ages, theyre all limited by this pattern. They want to have people that look like them, work like them. And they created this whole system and structure that works like that. I think its worsened the bay area because this is where all the Big Companies have started and where the focus of the tech sector is. And that has caused a lot of these problems. So project, you launched it last spring. Almost a year. So when ceos come to you, do you say its not just about who you hire. Once you hire that individual you have to keep track of their pay, bonuses, whatever it may be that they have to go a little deeper in regards to metrics. When youre looking at who you want to bring into your company, its not just about bringing more women and building that insider group. Its about bringing in everybody and giving them all a fair chance. What about, you were talking about culture here. Corporate culture how can that be geared to change to be more inclusive. I know that a lot of minorities not only women but minorities also dont feel as if they, they fit in. Its almost like being in high school again with clicks. How do you change that . A lotted of it is just having people being more thoughtful. When we think about the ceo you dont aspire to be someone who keeps people out of their company. But its about telling them when you have all this male trip to the bar women feel excluded , when you have trips on the weekend the parents feel excluded. Its really giving everybody the feeling of belonging. Do you find ceos are strictly focusing on women and they forget about race. All the time. When you look at whos having the hardest time its the women of color. Its the women of color who are transgender. Its the people who suffer multiple cards. And it would be great to figure out how do we make it so that theres not an inside group or outside group and just treat them all the same. One of the criteria for gauging. Its whether women and men take the phone out of paternity or maternity leave. Why is that a significant way to gauge how the company is doing. If you have a long parental leave that sounds great but if people dont feel like they can actually take it then you really dont have one thats long. And its with the culture companies. If you feel i can only take a month then your leave is really three months, one month for people. Seeing if people are actually taking it and they feel comfortable actually taking the time they need to spend with their newborn or adopted child its important. We mentioned anita hill and have you met. We had a phone call on saturday. She and i shared the same goal of having things looked at with optimism. There is opportunity. You read all these stories and its quite, disheartening but we do think there are people who are interested in changing. And making the world a better place and there is opportunity for the place but its coming. So maybe by holding that view bringing these issues forward are going to help. I think so. Everybody telling their stories and everybody sharing whats happening to them giving people an understanding that wow its actually much worse than i thought it was. And actually we do need to Pay Attention and we to need to change. And when people are reading it in the Public People are thinking, how can this really be happening. And then people need to look in the mirror and ask, what why am i doing this if its not right. You feel, i must be me. I must be doing something wrong. They keep giving you this feed back. You should be louder, less loud. Im going to continue to try to adapt. Once you hear everybody is getting this feed back and its the system thats broken. You need to focus on, what should i really be doing. What should i do to become a better employee instead of following the guideline that does not work.
