Reporter oakland firefighters performed a dramatic rescue to free two people trapped inside the wreckage of this darkcolored bmw sedan. The car was overturned and pinned against the tree this morning. Firefighters had to cut the car apart to get the driver out. He was pinned underneath the dashboard. This rescue took more than an hour. Finally just after 5 am the driver was freed and driven away in an ambulance. That young man is in critical condition. This crash happened 3 30 am when the car veered off the road and slammed into a tree on redwood road near crestmont drive off highway 13. There were four people inside this car. Two young men and two young women. Two were able to climb out on their own by the other two were trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters.
