We have come a long way from the days missing children were randomly shown on milk cartons. Billboards up the game to the road. Electric highway signs are now much faster and more effective. Today, two internet giants say they are working with the National Children for missing and exploited children and the u. S. Attorney general. Facebook already an amber alert partner will begin sending alerts along with detailed information and photographs to its members in designated search areas. And the search engine, bing, will begin allowing users to access amber alerts to its online tools. Now nationwide, facebook will notify some of its 185 million u. S. Members of any amber alerts in their area. That message will include really critical information like a picture of the child, a vehicle description, and any other information that the police think is important to help bringing that child home. In a very real sense, facebook and bing are just catching up with Law Enforcement. Uc Santa Barbara is getting a federal grant to pay for Mental Health services for those affected by the massacre last year. Youll recall six students were killed, three were from the bay area. 13 people were also wounded in the attack. The gunman was a 22yearold Community College student and he had posted an internet video right before the attack saying he would slaughter as many people as possible. The 570,000 grant will be used by the university to hire more Mental Healthpro health professionals. Their photos on their id cards were altered. The students found it unusual when they received new ids half way through the school year. Many students said their photos looked different than before. This is a split screen with the original on the left and the photo shopped version on the right. Many students saw those and said they didnt recognize themselves. It was really weird. I didnt like how i looked like a different person. Our faces look air brushed. Half of my face was slimmed down. Students parents are concerned these new ids are sending the wrong message to their daughters. Days getting longer. No rain in the forecast. Whats interesting, you can see the bugs flying around the lens right there. But there are swarms of them. It has a lot to do with the atmosphere.
