This morning rescue clues rushed to muscle rock beach. A paraglider crashed into the cliffs. He died before rescuers could get him back up the cliff. It is safe. But it is as safe as you make it. Reporter she a pilot. She doesnt rely on the lift to get air as most do. I dont think people would do it without knowing it comes with risks and depends on the experience of the pilot. How experienced was he or she. Reporter what happened this morning is unclear but it is not the first time. Two years ago another paraglider hit the cliffs and went to the hospital with serious injuries. With any aviation you are taking risk. You have to think carefully about how to minimize it risk. When you do they will tell you the risk is worth the reward. People think about it like it is a high adrenaline sport. It is not. You go up, you have the beautiful views that i have had anywhere. Thank you very much. Firefighters are battling a grass fire that interfered with traffic along interstate 580. Flames were in the Center Divide on the freeway around 2 00 p. M. This afternoon.
