Ktvus Christien Kafton is live in San Francisco with what we know right now. Reporter we learned that andrus checked into the hospital yesterday evening and by yesterday night, he was dead. Mark keaver a friend of andrus spoke out in his defense to several Media Outlets including ktvu and says he saw andrus on friday, the day before he died. He said im sorry. Reporter he said andrus was living on the street and needed a sleeping bag, food and water. He said they didnt talk about the details of the case but seemed to be affected by his arrest. He seemed maybe a little sad that he was in jail for a couple of days. Just, he took off. He said bye ill see you later. Reporter that would be the last time keber saw andrus. After his arrest, the District Attorney refused to prosecute. Theyve got something to work with but a really, really tough case. Even though the only named suspect is dead, there are still a lot of questions police and prosecutors will look to answer. Its possible this guy worked with somebody else. The fire started friday northwest of bishop and quickly spread to 7,000 acres and across the moto county line. Its been about 16 hours and could be two mores before highway one in jenner is reopened after a tanker truck overturned. The accident happened this morning in sonoma county.
