Reporter shes with the National Marine sanctuary and she confirms it was a gray whale possibly born earlier this year. Gray whales are kind of like the whales in the neighborhood. Theyre the most coastal of all the large whale species we have in this region and they like to migrate near shore. Developing news tonight from the south bay where police are on the scene of a Police Shooting<\/a> in south san jose. Authorities have the scene blocked off along monterey highway near bernal road. The shooting happened about two hours ago. But so far police have not provided any details. A source told us the person shot was taken to Regional Medical<\/a> center and was still alive as of an hour ago. Were still waiting to hear exactly what led up to the shooting. Police in berkeley say theyve arrested a man for a violent hammer attack during a demonstration last december over what protesters called police brutality. Authorities say the man in this picture is 20yearold jane waller of oakland. Hes charged with assault with a Deadly Weapon<\/a> and two felony counts of battery and burglary. Video from that night shows a man wearing a bike helmet trying to stop people from breaking windows at a radio shack. That man ended up getting hit in the head with a hammer. And actually had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. Palo alto library was forced to shut down today. The reason, bedbugs. Anne ruben with the effort to close the book on the bedbugs. What we know tonight about those killed. The four People Killed<\/a> in a deadly collision between a charter bus and duck boat on a bridge in seattle today have now been identified as International Students<\/a> on their way to a new student orientation. They were all on the charter bus and attended north seattle college. 44 other people were hurt. Several of them critically. A driver who was behind the duck boat says he saw the duck boat driver overcorrect and swerve right across three lanes of traffic and crash right into the bus. People in the bus flew through the front of the windshield and landed on the concrete. Are you shaken up by it too. Yeah, yeah. I just feel so bad for all those people. Their lives just changed so fast. Reporter the ntsb is taking over the investigate. The ride the duck company set out a statement. The duck tours used to run a tour in San Francisco<\/a> but shut down earlier this year because they said it was not profitable. The superintendent wants to take students who have mild or moderate special needs and integrate them into mainstream classrooms. There would still be separate classes for a much Smaller Group<\/a> for special needs students. The district says some students who are in special ed with mild to moderate disabilities arent being challenged enough. What we want to do is put them in this environment. Give them what they need to succeed, watch them thrive and watch them graduate. Reporter but putting special needs students in a mainstream classroom isnt equal and puts those students at a disadvantage with fewer resources. Reporter zamoras mother says during the summer the 8 yearold started suffering with double vision and started having trouble with balance. What happens to the child is they lose their ability to walk. Reporter the prognosis from doctors is grim. Vipg is almost always fatal. Zamora is now in the honey moon period. Is she in remission. No its just that the tumor has been shrunk down. Hopefully they say that will buy her some time. Three to six months. Reporter after six weeks of radiation treatment. The 8yearold was finally able to return to school here at harvey milk sieve rights civil rights academy. And tonight zamora is celebrating her birthday with her family and friends. Zamora and her parents are fighting to find a cure. I said youre going to find this and were going to help save other children as well. Reporter he is hoping to encourage funding for treatment. In the meantime zamora tells me shes glad to be back in school. Whats your favorite subject . Writing. Reporter zamora says she likes to write stories, perhaps with a happy ending of being able to celebrate another birthday.
