An oakland farmly escaped unfarm after a water logged tree landed on their home. It was a domino lake effect that sent the trees into the home and they are on edge with the trees still standing. One fell. Then it hit another one and another one. And oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Watch out. [ chain saw ] neighbors said the trees were so stall, the first to fall was two properties over. People are checking their Homeowners Insurance to find out how much they are covered for such damage and if they could be sued by neighbors if their own trees fell. A chp Spokesman Says it happened about 3 30 this afternoon in antioch near the lone tree way off ramp from highway 4. There are a few details at this point. Though the Highway Patrol tells us no one was killed in the incident. Investigators were on the scene until about 8 30 tonight. Police in newark today responded to a deadly shooting in a supermarket parking lot. Officers are called to the grocery outlet. They found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victims name has not been released yet. Investigators believe the killing may have been targeted. So far, no arrests have been made. New details in the case involving that vallejo couple who police wrongly accused of creating a kidnapping hoax. We are learning now that the couple met with attorneys this week for a civil hearing. Denise huskins and aaron quinn filed a civil complaint accusing 27 Police Officers with the Vallejo Police department of defamation, false arrest, infliction of emotional distress. Days after the kidnapping march 23 of 2015, vallejo investigators called it a hoax and a waste of Public Resources but it was not a hoax. Matthew muller pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. Well, there is word tonight the son of an oakland city councilman is among those under federal indictment in an alleged construction bidding scream. Tag reed, son of larry reed, is facing charges of bribery and conspiracy in 2013. Several other contractors including the founders of the turner group were also facing federal charges. According to the times, the indictments came about during the 2014 corruption investigation into state senator leland yee and raymond shrimp boy chow. Both of whom are serving prison sentences. When President Trump authorized a tomahawk missile strike on a syrian air base. The strike was a response to the chemical weapons attack that killed dozens. Many of whom were children. Roughly 20 jets were destroyed including fuel and ammunition depots. The syrian airport has more than a dozen other bases in operation allowing the war planes to take to the skies. Syrians living abroad are expressing mixed emotions after the strike. Instead of bombing, the u. S. Can intervene for the safe of a peace solution. Bombing cannot be considered a solution at all.
