Cbs evening news anchor scott pelley sat down with him as he prepares for his final broadcast. Think of the viewers, somebody who is probably still in his pajamas, bedroom slippers, and getting excessive cups of coffee as the broadcast goes on. What were you trying to communicate from the audience. Come away thinking this is a whole story, is there a whole story about people, who do wonderful things. People who have known, politicians, as singers, actors, play writes, or poets. This is part of the the humanity too. You have been a broadcasting all your life but to you most important thing is written word and a lot of people dont think the written word is important in broadcasting. I dont want them to think of what im saying as writing, i want them to think im just a person talking to them. I can tell you the name of the person im talking to. If i said we were born in the same year, irish twins, they used to call us, i find myself speaking to her. I want the audience to be with me and that is person im talking to good to all of those people who watched you over a steaming mug of coffee all those years, what do you say to them. I love you. So many love him right back. See a special cbs sunday morning, celebrating Charles Osgood right here on cbs3 at 9 00 a. M. Still ahead on Eye
