Reporter good morning, jan, one of the reasons why i love my job is because i get to spends sunday morning at the beach, and, as you can see, people are really using this morning, to get a little bit of exercise in, i spoke with some folks getting who had a chance to look at the sunrise early this morning, and as you can see, people are riding their bikes, out here jogging, a lot of people with strollers, taking those walks with their kids. This is truely the lazy days of summer. It is a kickoff of the Summer Season, a lot of the businesses have not opened yet. But people are still here on the board walken joying. Take a look at all of the activities that theyve been partaking in over the course of this weekends on the beach. Theyve been building sand castles, theyve been swimming in the ocean, hanging with their families, taking a loft walks, really trying to take some time to forget about the hustle and bustle of being in the city. Theyve been enjoying the boardwalk, eating lots of fudge, going to the arcades, doing all of the things that people love to do when they come down here to the shore to escape. I spoke to a couple of the bits owners here, and one at the arcade, they say, they look so forward to memorial day weekend, and just getting a chance to see all of the people come down, and get that boost of business that comes with memorial day and continues throughout the summer. Back out here live, it feels absolutely amazing when we first got here it was a little bit chilly. But now you can tell, people are shedding those sweats and theyre really starting to enjoy the sun. The sun is directly into my face. And now all of the mist thats on the ocean water is beginning to lift. It feels like it is going to be a wonderful day. New this morning, a man is shot and killed in southwest philadelphia. Police say the 39 year old victim was shot in the head at woodland and 52 street around five 30 a. M. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No word on a suspect or motive at this time. Another shooting this morning, this one in north philadelphia. Authorities say a man was shot in the arm around 4 a. M. It happened at 24 and diamond streets. Near william dick public school. The victim was taken to temple hospital. And his condition is not yet known at this time. No word on a suspect either. A stabbing in north philadelphia, sends a man to the hospital, Authorities Say the 39 year old man was attacked around midnight near front and clearfield streets he is in stable condition. Car overturns in east falls injuring two people. Emergency crews responded to rut one and fox street just after 3 this morning both have none threatening injuries. Three Year Old Girl recovering after falling out of 2 floor window in germantown. Par med, returned to the scene on the five hundred block every manheim street around 12 30 yesterday afternoon. Police say the girls father had just put the young girl to bed when he notice add hole this is the screen and his daughter missing. The 3 year old is in stable condition with a fractured skull. And there is a reward for information in this case. A dad saves the day when a huge tree limb falls in bucks county. This happened saturday afternoon, in the picnic area at Neshaminy State Park in bensalem. The father pushed his four year old son to safety, and then Good Samaritans lifted the limb off the man before First Responders arrived on the scene. Fortunately, father and son only suffered minor injuries. We we will re inspect all of the trees in the area. We do it over and over again. That area is secured, off limits for the rest of the weekend. So we can be sure the area is safe. 6 year old daughter also with the family, and she was not injured. Another underground explosion, is blown off another manhole cover from a philadelphia street. This one happened at 63 and race, just before noon yesterday. Peco says temporarily losing power, no word yet what caused the damage. This is the third manhole explosion in a week. The other two happened in Washington Square west last sunday, and near 30 street station last saturday. No one was injured in any of the incidents. Crews pull a cash from darby creek. The driver crashed through fence on Old West Chester Pike and went into the water. The driver suffered minor injuries. The cause that far crash is under investigation. Traffic isnt bad thats good news headed out. Youre looking at the walt whitman bridge, very popular bridge if you are headed to the jersey shore today. No delays further up on the 42 freeway, the bridge itself looks okay. Despite the bridge painting thats going on, no delays or problems, and no lanes taken out on the bridge which is good. But taking the bridge to 295 south down to 42 thats very slow, so the left lane closed due to sewer great collapse. On the garden state parkway headed to the shore left lane blocked between the white horse poke in pomona due to overturned vehicle. Atlantic city expressway however no delays or problems which is good. Going to move the traffic cam here, to the midcounty tolls, pa turnpike, headed to the poconos today, you shouldnt encounter any delays or problems, no problems on the pa turnpike or the northeast extension. And moving the traffic cam one more time, this is the schuylkill expressway between montgomery and girard. The schuylkill is in great shape this morning. You can see, traffic is moving along, little less volume than usual, a lot of folks out of town, and with volume there moving along fine. No delays on the schuylkill through philadelphia, or its suburbs, so if you are taking mass transit, today, thats on or close to schedule. Thats the latest
