that you've referenced for quite some time. but in light of the supreme court's decision in reference from last week, it is all the more imperative to root out any types of policies in higher education that harm communities of color, and predominantly benefit white applicants. and these legacy preferences are examples of those types of policies at harvard. >> so, break it down for us please. for folks at home were wondering, well, how is this a civil rights violation. how exactly do legacy admissions at harvard violate civil rights law? >> sure. so, we filed this complaint under title six of the civil rights act of 1964, which forbids harvard and other types of schools that receive federal funding from having programs or processes that have a racial element and that discriminate on the basis of race. in this particular instance, we
