The report will contain minority views, which will allow republicans to present their counter argument. We were talking a little earlier. Tell me what are you hearing from your sources on how the overall timeline for the impeachment process will play out . Right. So we have this first hearing on wednesday in the Judiciary Committee which will be mostly an academic exercise. It will allow essentially constitutional scholars, law professors, to lay out for the American Public what is an Impeachable Offense and describe in their views whether President Trump did commit those offenses that democrats have sort of tried to lay out here. Secondly, after that process, that is the Intelligence Committee will get a chance in some form to make their case to the Judiciary Committee members that President Trump does deserve to be impeached. There will likely be an argument for the president s attorneys after that point if they choose to participate in the process. Which will allow them to lay out the president s case as to why he didnt do anything wrong. Longterm, what are you hearing about the senate portion of this . Obviously its going to make its way through the house. Thats right. So the house process will finish up before christmas and then the senate trial will likely begin in january. It could be as short as two weeks. As long as as six or even eigh y weeks. One of the considerations is when schumer and mcconnell come together to come to a time agreement on the length of the trial is the 2020 primary process. Obviously the Iowa Caucuses in early february. Its in senator schumers interest for this not to dprrag out so those members of his caucus that being Elizabeth Warren, kamala harris, cory booker and others running for president arent taken off the trail for so long and can be in iowa for as long as as b possible and campaign.
