However, i will say, it didnt connecticut to new york today as well. And obviously we have had a report of the bus accident. It doesnt have to be 6 inches of snow. Just a couple inches of snow, especially early on when it starts to stick. Thats when it can be most dangerous. We had School Closings and delays across the area. If you were with us on friday, i described the week as being in shark infested waters with storms surrounding us, not that theres one big huge block buster weather maker or snow maker, but we have these hits of snow, and were going to end the week with big cold. Lets clear everything out. A lot of people are thinking, were going to get lots of snow this week, its not going to happen in a lot of spots. We look at the manhattan skyline. Gloomy, freezey, the northeast wind is gusty around 17 miles an hour. Theres the camera shaking a little bit. Average high about 40 degrees. Close to average with the warmer numbers early and that helps roads early. 26 brookhaven. Slippery spots overnight into the evening commute and morning commute tomorrow. 35 in newark. We havent snowed much in new jersey if at all. Thats why temperatures are mild, and thin spots in the clouds. There can be snow showers around at 7 00 this evening. A storm like that, 500 miles away, usually doesnt reach us with snow like that. Thats the wingspan of the storm. And right now we have a decent snow band that goes from about denver to bridgeport, over to brookhaven and just in the last few frames, one last little pulse back ward into central and West Chester County near could be a couple slippery spots. And over new jersey, a couple flurries near New Brunswick. Now the next system, not terribly organized but bands of heavy snowfall. A second low forms off the delmar, and theres going to be a heavy area of snow thats going to center itself from southern pennsylvania down to the delmar, so this storm, we were on the western edge, the one tomorrow will be on the northeastern side of it. In that area i have circled in red, there would be 5, 6 inches of snow there. Were awful close to that though i think were out of the big accumulations. Let me get the timing on that. First of all you have the light snow that can redevelop in the evening hours before thenning out. This is an encouraging future cast for the morning commute. Isolated snow showers and flurries around and a few thick spots. Nothing major. During the day tomorrow, i just think there are snow showers and breaks in the clouds. Then the disturbance off to the south will swing more snow into the area tomorrow night and the wednesday morning commute. That could mean an additional any given spot, making things slippery before things dry out during the middle of the day. Snows. Youre looking out the window, snowing again, blustery and cold, snow showers tonight, a coating to max an inch in a 27 degrees. 35 degrees tomorrow. Mostly cloudy, on and off snow showers. Breaks of sun, but a chilly northeast wind and tomorrow night, snow showers or a period of snow in spots, and a total accumulation through tomorrow night would be 1 to 3 inches. Thats into daybreak hours on wednesday. Speaking of that wednesday map, do we have to deal with the snowy start. Thats the new information coming in other the next hour or two. That may be the warmest day of the weekend, 40, and our 7day forecast will turn our focus from snow to the huge chill, the coldest air of the winter coming in later in the week. A lot to talk about.
