Nbc 10 was in Delaware County yesterday where neighbors on mulberry street in upland watched crews restore new power lines. There appears to you new outages today from last nights storms adding to those without electricity from tuesdays wild weather. Atlantic City Electric is working to restore electricity to just over 25,000 customers. Pse g has close to 1,200 outages. Peco reports 3,100 customers without power. Delmarva reports just under 600 outages. Nbc 10s jesse gary is visiting some of the hardest hit areas in Gloucester County. Hes live in woolwich township. Jesse . We have moved to what may be ground zero for last tuesdays storm. Were standing on somers avenue. This has nearly every home here has some kind of damage ranging from a few shingles ripped off to tree tops sheered off. And this right over here a garage has been imploded. The township and neighboring Greenwich Township have multiple roads closed due to downed wires. Damaged in the streets. One neighbor hear been clearing wood from downed trees in his backyard since last tuesday when he lost power. Hes stilling in the dark. Like living in the 1800s. You get up with the sun. Go to bed with the sun. Unless you bug out, i dont have a generator. A couple people in the neighborhood have generators. Thats about it you go through it day by day. Thousands of homes still without power. Youre looking at a garage thats been imploded by the force of the storms. The neighboring house was damaged. New from overnight a car accident in southWest Philadelphia killed a man and sent two other people to the hospital. Nbc 10 was on the scene on island avenue at lindbergh boulevard. Police investigating the accident tell us the car veered off the street and on to trolley tracks. The victim who died was a passenger. We are working to find out the conditions of the driver and another passenger who were hurt. In Camden County a person is dead after a car crashed into a utility pole. Nbc 10 was in lindenwold this morning. The accident happened on the white horse pike at United States avenue. Were working to get more details on that. In bucks dont, a man is facing trial on tuesday for inappropriately touching two 10yearold girls. This happened during separate sleepovers at huebschs home in bensalem. One of the girls parents contacted police. A different bucks county man is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5yearold girl. Eric joseph derr is accused of attacking the child. Its not clear when the crime happened or how old the girl is now. Derr is expected to appear in court midjuly. A father charged in a deadly crash is asking for leniency. Police say he allowed his underage daughter to drive his car in which three bucks county teenagers were killed. Michael ware of scarsdale, new york is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and other offenses stemming from that crash last september. He is asking to have the most serious charges dropped. The Court Hearing is set for tuesday. Authorities say wares 15yearold daughter was driving his suv in the poconos when it overturned killing the three victims who were students at Council Rock South high school. From our Delaware Bureau police say a driver who survived a crash that killed another driver in north wilmington ran a red light it happened around 7 00 yesterday morning on naamans road. A woman died ddied, two passengers in her car are in the hospital. The driver of her car, a 70yearold wilmington man could face charges pending the outcome of a police investigation. Escaped prison inmate david sweat is still on the loose this morning in northern new york. More than 1,000 officers are now searching thick woods about 30 miles from the prison from which sweat and his accomplice escaped three weeks ago. Officers shot and killed the accomplice richard matt on friday. Matt once swore that if he ever escaped from prison he would not be captured alive. That word from the lawyer who prosecuted matts murder case in 2008. The lawyer said prison snitches revealed the killers pledge. Authorities killed matt three weeks after he and a fellow inmate broke out of prison in northern new york. We have no reason to believe that mr. Sweat was not with mr. Matt at the time. Officials in North Carolina are reporting another apparent shark attack. This one happened yesterday on the outer banks. A 17yearold boy was bitten on his leg, hands and buttocks while swimming about 20 feet from the beach. Medics treated him on the beach before he was airlifted to a hospital in virginia. If confirmed, it would be the seventh reported shark attack off the carolina coast in the last two weeks. A swoet boat swept over a dam in maryland killing one person and leaving nine others injured. Nine people were riding in a pontoon boat on a lake when the craft was southwest over the dam. Some people on board the boat jumped out before it went over the spillway. Helicopters helped to locate the survivors. Some of them were found clinging to rocks. Medics took the injured to hospitals. Crews are still looking for the boats captain who is presumed dead. In new orleans hundreds of Police Officers attended a memorial mass yesterday for a fallen comrade. Officer Darrell Holloway was shot and killed while driving a suspect to jail last weekend.
