The Investigation Continues tonight into the crash of a small plane in the backyard of a home in new jersey. The pilot and passenger are in the hospital tonight. Action news reporter, Christie Ileto is live at the scene. The crash site on east lyndon avenue. Christie, what is the latest on this . Reporter well, jim, the feds work to uncover what went wrong here. While they work to uncover what went wrong here, five to ten minutes we see people driving past to marvel whats left of the crash site. With all the homes in this area, its a miracle the pilot was able to steer clear of them ending up in the shrubs of someones backyard. Crazy. Nuts. Reporter residents cant grasp how this crashed in their neighborhood narrowly missing dozens of homes. It sounded like a trash truck like when they go down. My buddy says look. Faculty at 14 Pennsylvania State universities walked off the job this morning. Contract negotiations between the Pennsylvania State system of Higher Education and the Faculty Union hit an impasse. At issue, pay raises, increase cost of medical benefits. The strike kept 100,000 students out of class today. Two Philadelphia Police officers fired after they say he refused to drop a rifle. It happen d on the 6300 block after 6 00. Officers responded to a domestic call. They arrived to find a 55yearold man at the front door holding rifle. Police say he ignored commands to put it down and pointed the rifle at them. Thats when they shot the suspect in the arm. He was taken to the hospital, expected to be okay. A man in his late teens died after gunfire in West Philadelphia. He was shot in the shoulder in the 3500 block of wallace street. He was rushed to penn hospital where he was pronounced dead.
